SUMMARY: Insure smooth operation of Housekeeping to maintain high levels of cleanliness throughout Holiday Inn Mart Plaza’s property. Supervises housekeeping staff and inspects rooms and public areas for service and quality standards to ensure guest satisfaction.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, a staff member must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Attend new hire department and company orientation prior to beginning work in the department. Continue attending Quality & Training classes for personal development.
Help keep a positive guest experience. Smile, be helpful and friendly while providing quick and accurate service.
Inspect staff members quality of work performance on a daily basis to assure that standards and productivity levels are being met and maintained. Inspects approximately 80 plus guest rooms, corridors and common areas in work station daily to ensure adherence to established cleanliness standards, and proper amenity and literature placement.
Inspects for needed repairs, reports maintenance problems immediately and follows up to ensure the work has been completed.
Provides recommendations for staff member discipline, recognition and performance evaluation to support the career development process of staff members under their supervision. Ensure that staff members have a sufficient amount of necessary supplies through regular supply and linen inventories and communicates supply needs to supervisor.
Communicates information effectively from management to staff members and from staff members to management.
Proper use of personal protective equipment and chemical use.
Performs other related duties as requested by the Director of Housekeeping or Asst. Director of Housekeeping.
Supervises approximately 25-30 staff members per shift. Is responsible for assisting management for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Gives input on performance appraisals, and discipline for staff members. Addresses complaints and resolves problems.
Communication devices such as a telephone or a pager are used frequently for such functions as communicating with the housekeeping department while on the floor.
May be required to assist the house person or room attendant by helping to clean room and public areas.
