Newport based Hospitality Company is seeking a qualified Dining Room Manager who will work with a team to effectively operate the Hotel dining room, private dining and outdoor seating areas, in an existing 25 room hotel.

What you will be doing

  • Develop the overall strategy that will maximize revenue, guest and team member satisfaction, and financial performance. 
  • Create and promote efficient operating procedures to provide a flawless guest experience, and actively engage with guests from arrival to departure. 
  • Maintain a high level of service in all areas to both internal and external guests. 
  • Resolve problems and effectively communicate across multiple levels and departments to ensure consistency and memorable guest service.
  • Promote an engaging, highly functioning work environment by selecting top talent and training and developing new associates. 
  • Continuously celebrate and recognize desired behaviors and successes; mentor and coach existing colleagues. 
  • Monitor departmental scheduling, ensure accountability to standards, and modify if necessary to achieve optimal efficiency.
  • Manage restaurant budget to control expenses and increase revenue. 
  • Manage assets to retain highest possible long-term value. 
  • Maintain strong relationships with all hospitality and business partners, neighbors, vendors, and hospitality competitors.


The ideal candidate will be a driven and motivating leader who has proven experience in enabling exceptional guest service. 

  • He/she will display strong hands-on operational skills and will thrive in customer interactions.
  •  A critical and objective thinker, who has excellent problem solving and communication skills and the ability to demonstrate strong judgment. 
  • The ability to understand and interpret hotel financial reports, as well as to generate, and analyze budgets and labor reports. 
  • A passion for hospitality, as demonstrated by a progressive hospitality career.
  • A minimum of five years of experience as a restaurant manager, catering manager or private dining manager.  
  • Must be technologically savvy, with a strong understanding of social media. 
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced and creative work environment. 
  • Both food and beverage and event management experience is preferred.
