Job overview

Motivated and experienced Hotel Group Sales Manager needed to join our Sales team. The Group Sales Manager is responsible for increasing revenue through the development of group business for this luxury destination spa resort. Primary duties include active solicitation of new business and responding to incoming group sales inquiries.

Our ideal candidate

  • Education/Certification:  Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing, Sales Management or related fields.
  • Knowledge: Solid working knowledge of Sales management system (such as Delphi) for account and contact management, reporting and analytics; proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, social media. 
  • Experience:  4-5 years luxury hotel sales with proven track record and exceptional contacts in corporate meetings and incentive group markets.
  • Requirements: 
    • Luxury hotel sales experience and experience and familiarity with the workings of the hotel and hospitality industry
    • Strong grasp and knowledge of hotel, destination spa and competitive markets
    • Persuasive sales and negotiation skills
    • Strong revenue management and financial comprehension
    • Knowledge of computer accounting programs, math skills, and budgetary analysis capabilities
    • Excellent understanding of leadership and demonstration of leadership skills
    • Ability to think creatively and analytically
    • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate both verbally and in writing
    • Effective organizational skills with ability to pay attention to details
    • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with all types of personalities in a professional manner
    • Ability to resolve problems in a diplomatic manner
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays

What you will be doing

  • Maintain positive relationships with property’s existing clients to encourage repeat and recurring business, rebooking annual group programs (meetings and group business) as well as establish new business.
  • Sustain rapport with key accounts by making periodic visits; exploring specific needs; anticipating new opportunities.
  • Meet marketing and sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances.
  • Attain established group room nights and revenue goals.
  • Proactively pursue sales activities on weekly basis to align with achieving monthly budget and goals – individual sales calls, prospect calls/emails and site inspections.
  • Secure new repeat corporate accounts to continue to maximize and maintain a strong Group portfolio.
  • Network with wedding planners and special event planners to encourage hotel bookings.
  • Respond to client requests within 24 hours – phone calls, emails, sending quotes.
  • Quote and negotiate prices with clients and drawing up contracts.
  • Ensure proposals and contracts are accurate and timely.
  • Participate in trade shows, conferences and promotional events within the hotel, the industry and customer organizations as needed.
  • Professionally represent the hotel in the community and industry organizations and events.
