About This Job

Company Overview

Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is located on Florida’s Emerald Coast between Pensacola and Panama City, eight miles east of Destin. The 2,400-acre Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is the premier destination in Northwest Florida.

Summary

The Director of Rental Sales  implements supports and enforces compliance of the Rental Program Agreement and the HOA’s, CC&Rs, REA and Rules and Regulations. The DOR must utilize proactive leadership in managing Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort’s rental owner base and team members to achieve superior owner satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Tracks and communicates monthly rental property variance report; prepares annual budgets, monthly forecasts and forecast variance report; reports division accruals as needed.
  2. Produces departmental schedule; organizes monthly departmental meetings and daily line up.
  3. Conducts annual performance reviews for line staff and managers.
  4. Coordinates departmental purchases and processes needed financial back up monthly.
  5. Discusses with client terms and conditions for providing management services, and drafts agreement stipulating extent and scope of management responsibilities, services to be performed, and costs for services.
  6. Prepares lease or rental agreements for lessees and collects specified rents and impounds.
  7. Directs bookkeeping functions, or credits client account for receipts and debits account for disbursements such as mortgage, taxes, and insurance premium payments, management services costs, and upkeep and maintenance costs.
  8. Arranges for alterations to, or maintenance, upkeep, or reconditioning of property as specified in management services or lessee's agreement.
  9. Directs preparation of financial statements and reports on status of properties such as occupancy rates and dates of expiration of leases.
  10. Prepares periodic inventory of building contents and property condition, and forwards listing to owner for review.

Scope of Budget Responsibility

This position maintains overall responsibility for budgeting, implementing and maintaining costs.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises 10 to 12 employees in the Rental Managers, Sales Manager and Assistants. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university preferred; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Mathematical Skills                                                        

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability                                                  

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Travel Requirements
Infrequent Travel: This position requires travel 30% of the time.

Other Qualifications

Availability 

Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is open and operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Employees are required to be available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

License Requirements

Valid driver’s license that has been in effect for at least three years, with no major violations and no more than two minor violations in the past three years. 

Rules and Regulations

All employees must adhere to all safety rules and regulations required by local, State and Federal authorities, wear the appropriate personal protective equipment necessary to perform the job in a safe manner and will follow all safety rules per the Company’s Safety Policy.

Language Skills

Must be able to speak, read, write and comprehend the English language.

Compensation: $70,000 plus commision
