About This Job

Job Description

As a Group Sales Manager, you will be a part of Century Square the new mixed use development in College Station Texas directly cross the street from the Texas A&M campus. You will be responsible for selling both Calvary Court and The George hotels with total of 303 guestrooms and over 10,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space. This is an Intermediate level sales job without management responsibilities. You will solicit the most complex accounts and be consultative in nature. 

Responsibilities

  • Develops new leads and researches new business 80% of the time to meet and/or exceed revenue goals in rooms, food and beverage and resource revenue.
  • 3+ years of experience and has expert knowledge of the business, competitive landscape and the local market.
  • Able to identify trends in the market and apply this knowledge to maximize sales.
  • Proactive in developing new business for the hotel. Maintains strong customer relationships.
  • Anticipates and understands customer needs to provide solutions.
  • Uses a high degree of judgment and discretion to persuade customers and ensure satisfaction.
  • Manages customer expectations and resolves issues.
  • Highly organized and able to move from task to task in a timely fashion.
  • Achieve budgeted revenues and expenses and maximize profitability related to the sales department.
  • Any other additional tasks assigned by Director of Sales & Marketing.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree preferred and/or 1-3 years of sales experience in the hospitality industry or comparable sales field
  • Solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication.
  • Prepare correspondence to customers, internal booking reports and file maintenance.
  • Participate in daily department meeting, pre-convention meetings, training and other sales-related meetings as required.
  • Work with other departments within the hotel to provide quality service to customers.
  • Conduct site tours for potential clients.
  • Excellent written, spoken, and presentation skills.
  • Promptly respond to and resolve guest requests, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely manner
  • Attend trade shows, community events and industry meetings.
  • Be fully knowledgeable of the capabilities and limitations of the hotel and departments that may impact sales strategies
  • Develop/maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers.
