About This Job

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participates in the development and implementation of business strategies for the hotel which are aligned with Country Inn’s overall mission, vision values and strategies
  • Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times, set example for immediate and hotel wide staff.
  • Develops and implements strategic marketing plans and sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for groups and wholesale business.
  • Plans and oversees all sales and marketing activities.
  • Negotiates and closes contracts with key customers.
  • Handle group bookings, inquiries and follow up. This includes customer phone contact, walk-ins, scheduled and unscheduled appointments, obtaining customer requirements, such as rooming lists and meeting details.
  • Sending out contracts to verify rooms and meeting space commitment.
  • Develop a Marketing Plan by gathering historical and competitive data, then setting goals and determining action plans to meet those goals.
  • Work with the General Manager in preparing and Updating action plans and financial objectives.
  • Develop new business through obtaining accounts through lateral development of existing accounts and contacting new customers in the market. The solicitation of new and saturation of existing business should be through a combination of in-house appointments, telephone, and personal calls.
  • Entertain and maintain close relations with the major accounts tourism and business associations, and community leaders to develop positive rapport and ensure repeat business.
  • Prepare and interpret month end reports. Monitor and analyze trends so we are always prepared and proactive to changes rather than re-active. Know your competitors business and ensure hotel is receiving its fair share.
  • Achieves market share and revenue goals
  • Complete weekly reports and submit those required to the General Manager.
  • Monitor room inventory and rate programs be knowledgeable of occupancy, average rate, and REVPAR goals.
  • Perform various other duties as assigned to meet business objectives

Qualifications

  • Prior sales experience required
  • Experience within the Hotel Industry
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
  • Professional presentations skills
  • Innovative thinker that will challenge business processes and concepts in order to drive results.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Must be proficient with computers as well as Microsoft Word, Excel and the internet
  • Comfortable with sales and revenue systems/programs
