About This Job

SUMMARY:

This position will oversee the day-to-day operation of the Hotel Spa to ensure that Spa runs smoothly. In addition, oversee the operation of the Brown Palace Flower Shop and any retail program as instructed by the Hotel Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for daily operations of the Spa Services Department
  • Responsible for scheduling personnel, guest service, physical plant maintenance, monthly report of performance and activities
  • Responsible for daily operations of the Brown Palace Flower Shop and Retail.
  • Responsible for ensuring that standards of professionalism are evident everywhere and that excellent service levels are maintained
  • Responsible for development of new services, programs and achievement of budgeted revenue levels
  • Development of new treatments/programs suited to the needs of guests and current fitness programs
  • Responsible for hiring of staff with appropriate credentials, experience and an enthusiasm for guest service
  • Responsible for training, development and, as necessary, disciplining of staff
  • Helps in overseeing control of staff-related expenses and for implementation of grooming and performance standards
  • Acts as liaison with guests to help promote sales of services and products
  • Supports efforts to ensure that guest service and hospitality is the primary concern of all employees
  • Continuous guest interaction is a primary responsibility of this position
  • Daily walks of area to ensure all Departments are in operation and that area is in good repair
  • Establishment of punch list items and repair timelines, along with a close relationship with Engineering to ensure completion of these items
  • Oversight of bulk and retail inventories, with provision of quarterly inventory and use reports; to include ordering bulk and retail products and maintaining par levels
  • Responsible for ensuring that staff has a full understanding of costs related to delivery of treatments
  • Responsible for issuing products to treatment personnel upon completion of form prepared by staff members
  • Responsible for ensuring that all areas are clean and guest-ready at all times, including monitoring night cleaners’ work, laundry facilitation and general housekeeping oversight
  • Responsible for controlling expenses through effective use of personnel and products
  • Supports sales of services and treatments through sales to in-house guests, resort guests and local guests, to include sales training of staff and creation of an atmosphere in which guests want to spend their money
  • Make recommendations on service menu to ensure consistency with current trends and marketplace, to include development of guest programs related to the Services area
  • Participation in MOD program
  • Participation in social activities, as required
  • Assist in overall management of Spa, regardless of whether in your own area or not
  • Attend meetings, as required
  • Working an ideal schedule resulting in maximum effectiveness in the performance of essential duties, including weekends and holidays
  • Projection of a strong sense of professionalism
  • Familiarity with AAA and MOBIL four-diamond and four-star standards to ensure staff are knowledgeable of requirements and performing at these levels at all times
