You’ll be responsible for effectively leading and managing all aspects of the hotel and for delivering results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the hotel by accomplishing performance objectives focused on exceeding guest expectations, driving sales and profitability, and ensuring that standards of the Hotel are met.

What you will be doing

  • Ensure financial success of the property by aggressively pursuing revenue goals, managing expenses, controlling labor costs and assuming overall responsibility for revenue management.  Ensure that hotel revenues are maximized, rate objectives and goals are achieved and efficient cash flow through is controlled.
  • Responsible for effective and efficient operation of the hotel, exceeding company and brand standards for guest satisfaction, as well as maintain superior Guest scores.  Ensure that a maximum level of guest service and satisfaction is achieved and maintained, and internal and external customer service needs are met through avenues such as training, survey analysis, feedback, and positive re-enforcement programs.
  • Direct and actively participate in the overall sales and marketing of the hotel. 
  • Ensure that hotel operations are in compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations.
  • Ensure that hotel operations are in compliance with preferred standards.
  • Provide a leadership role in the selection, training, development and retention of hotel management teams.
  • Ensure that on-going communication occurs within the property.  Maintain close relationships with customers, property staff and the corporate officers.  Work with and inspire the department heads to achieve highest levels of guest satisfaction, employee morale, operational and cost efficiencies and open communications with corporate management and ownership.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all hotel policies/service procedures/standards.
  • Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain complete knowledge at all times of:
    • All hotel features/services, hours of operation.
    • Daily house count and expected arrivals/departures.
    • Scheduled in-house group activities, locations and times.
  • Access all functions of computer system.
  • Review the daily business levels, anticipate critical situations and plan effective solutions to best expedite these situations.
  • Assign work duties to executive management
  • Inspect grooming and attire of staff; rectify any deficiencies.
  • Constantly monitor Sales staff performance in all phases of service and job functions.
  • Tour each department daily; look for safety hazards and check staff adherence to hotel policies and procedures.

  • College degree.
  • Experience as a Director of Hotel Operations/Assistant General Manager.
  • Experience in a Full Service Hotel/Resort
  • Computer literate.
  • Knowledge of budget preparation and cost controls
  • Compute accurate mathematical calculations
Ability to:
  • Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy under pressure of tense/confrontational situations.
  • Enforce hotel’s standards, policies and procedures with hotel staff.
  • Prioritize and organize.
  • Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgement.

The Claridge Hotel, once known by its 1929 nickname “Skyscraper by the Sea”, radiates a breathtaking Manhattanesque design situated in the prime center of the Atlantic City’s boardwalk.
