About This Job

The Executive Chef contributes to the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen while delivering the brand promise and provide exceptional guest service at all times and cleanliness of the kitchen. The Executive Chef also coordinates activities of and directs training of cooks, and other kitchen workers engaged in preparing and cooking foods to ensure an efficient and profitable food service by performing the following duties personally or through supervisors.

The ideal candidate for this position

  • Full-time management position that requires schedule flexibility, ability to work weekends and holidays, and a varied mix of day and evening shifts.
  • 5 years of related experience, preferably in an Executive Chef role.
  • Experience in large volume food preparation as well as a la carte service, food procurement, menu pricing, presentation, and sanitation. Hotel background preferred.
  • A true desire to understand and anticipate the needs of others in a fast paced environment.
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be proficient in general computer knowledge, including a working knowledge of point of sale systems (Micros).
  • Candidates should be extremely detail oriented and organized.
  • Candidates should possess proven leadership skills
  • Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, and effective in providing exceptional customer service.

What you will be doing

  • Responsible for short and long term planning of culinary operation, while working closely with the Sales and Food & Beverage departments.
  • Regularly review service scores to identify areas needing improvement and implement appropriate changes.
  • Investigate new and improved menus, food preparation, and service methods. Develop and direct implementation of menus, displays and presentations.
  • Ensure associates are properly trained in food storage, handling, preparation, cooking and plating. Ensure associates are properly trained to use the equipment and in sanitary procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards.
  • Ensure timely response to guest needs. Resolve guest complaints as appropriate to maintain guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain a consistent professional and positive attitude when communicating with guests and associates. Approach all encounters and actions with guests and associates in a friendly, service oriented manner.
  • Ensure effective hiring, training, development, promotion and continuous reinforcement of standards.
  • Lead and coach the team towards achieving exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction results.
  • Develop and implement creative strategies for revenue enhancement and cost containment.
  • Manage within approved plans on budget and marketing plans.
  • Responsible for maintaining a high energy, positive, professional appearance.
