Due to recent growth we have an immediate opening for a Vice President of Operations to help guide and oversee the company’s operational functions and ensure that the company continues to achieve high end results for our investors. As we have a solid track record with Marriott, Hilton and Hyatt brands, individuals with experiences from them are highly valued. 

The candidate we seek will aim to maximize growth and profitability while leading and managing all company operations functions. This includes implementing potentially profitable short- and long-term programs and processes to optimize work flow. The Vice President of Operations will work very closely with our President and Vice President of Finance. This position will oversee the Operational Team and provide support and resources, both in person and remotely. This position could require extensive travel at times. 

This position will be based in Cincinnati, Ohio/Northern Kentucky Area. Candidates and family must be willing to relocate to the area immediately.

  • Review and approve plans to control budget spending, labor efficiency, new areas of technology and customer service efficiency.
  • Review performance against operating plans, analyze market conditions and approve changes in plan directions.
  • Guide the Operations Team by interpreting polices, goals and purposes of the organization for team and conducting performance reviews.
  • Plan specific strategies and formulate polices so that company goals and objectives are met.
  • Oversight of all financial aspects of each hotel: P & L, Forecasting and Budgeting.
  • Ensure operational excellence for all hotels; provides support, critique and guidance to the Operational Team when hotels are falling short of brand standards and/or company expectations.
  • Act as a role model and provide guidance on company culture; including vision, mission and values. Emulate “Whatever It Takes” culture at all times.
  • Select, develop, manage and lead operational management team members.
  • Guide, develop and implement policies, procedure and systems to improve business operations.
  • Provide leadership relative to annual marketing plans.
  • Ongoing communication with the Operational Team and GM’s.
  • Review status reports with the Operational Team & GM’s and assist in areas where needed.
  • Review P & L with Regional Area Directors of Operation.
  • Review monthly sales reports with Regional Field Directors of Sales & Marketing.
  • Mentor, guide, train and coach.
  • Approve Ops Team expense reports.
  • Complete Ops Team Annual reviews with input from others.
  • Direct programs pertinent to increasing quality and profits.

Education, Certifications or Licenses Needed:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 10 years experience in a multi-unit, multi-location hospitality company with a minimum of 5 years General Managers experience including a proven track record of growth and profitability
  • Hotel operations experience, specifically with upscale products targeted to the meeting, business transient, and leisure markets would be a plus. In addition to operations experience, experience in sales/marketing or accounting/finance would be helpful. A good balance between experience in a sophisticated “flag/chain” environment and an independent hotel/resort environment is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of hospitality operations development theory and methods and the ability to communicate them effectively to others within the organization. Maximize the potential of the organization by introducing innovative concepts and holding teams accountable for the delivery on a property-level of customized, best-in-class solutions.
  • Experience in developing and implementing appropriate systems for measuring critical aspects of operational management and development, including its impact on profit and revenue outcomes.
  • Leadership skills including: coaching, mentoring, feedback and training.
  • Critical thinker and decision maker.
  • Strength in influencing people with new ways of thinking to commit and accept responsibility for actions combined with the patience to listen and respond.
  • This executive will be an entrepreneurial and inspirational leader – someone who combines vision and urgency for the company.
