As part of the corporate Hotel Finance Team, duties of the hotel finance analyst will include: the review of financial statements, forecast and analysis for the division. The individual will perform weekly and monthly reporting and analysis, for all hotels in the division along with the system maintenance required to maintain the integrity of the reporting. The individual will effectively manage complicated projects, collaborate with other departments and operate effectively in a fast pace and dynamic environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Analyze operating performance of the division by regions, brands, ownership, location and other areas to determine costs and structure of each. This function requires a general understanding of hotel operating metrics (ADR, Occ and RevPAR) and a basic knowledge of the profit and loss statement (Revenues, Expenses, GOP, NOI).
  • Identify and explain budget variance analysis identifying root causes and key performance issues critical to division performance.
  • Manage weekly and monthly reporting processes and deliverables including the enhancement of processes and procedures supporting the department’s functions. Work with finance organization team members on understanding and simplifying reporting solutions provided to distributed and mobile work force.
  • Perform system administration (TM1) and data governance duties required to manage changes in hotel population and associated attributes.This function requires a detailed oriented individual with an ability to organize, document, and execute a disciplined approach to problem solving in an environment seeking more structure and accuracy.
  • Complete special projects and ad hoc analyses for executive team and other departments.

Knowledge and Skills:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, finance, business or real estate required.

Experience: Three (3) plus years of experience in hospitality consulting, financial analysis, feasibility, business case valuation, development, asset management or similar function preferred. Hotel operational experience preferred, but not required.

Skills and Abilities:        

  • Knowledge of the lodging and/or real estate industries.
  • Solid proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point.Specifically, exceptional knowledge of financial modeling, TM1 experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical thought process.
  • Capable of adding structure, documentation and discipline to weekly and monthly reporting and system administration processes.
  • Possess excellent listening skills and the ability to execute plans while working independently or in a team environment.
  • Deductive reasoning skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly effective research skills.
  • Well-organized, self-starter.
  • Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task.
  • Respectful of deadlines.
