Position Summary:

We are recruiting for a talented and ambitious Intern to join our Real Estate & Asset Management team on a placement for either 6 or 12 months. This placement is ideally suited to a current student or recent graduate who is looking to gain some experience in one of the world’s leading hospitality companies and global brands.

The Real Estate & Asset Management (REAM) team is responsible for all of Hilton’s real estate and asset management activities outside the Americas and to enhance long term value of the Hilton portfolio through appropriate capital investments, restructurings, workouts and acquisitions/dispositions. As an intern, you will provide an essential support function which in short, will help us to ensure that we are obtaining maximum return on investment across all real estate and assets outside the Americas. This role is particularly focused on analysing data and effective communication with hotel owners.

We are looking for the successful candidate to start in February 2018.

What will I be doing?

You will consolidate and summarise a range of financial data including capital expenditure requests from our hotels, ensure that your findings are presented back to the Senior Management team in a concise and informative way. You will prepare schedules and Excel spreadsheets on annual capital spend and will have an opportunity to input into identifying return on investment opportunities. This is a highly analytical role whereby you will be required to support the strategic assessment of hotel assets and update the asset strategy for each property. You will analyse return on investment projects and will be expected to underwrite them autonomously and prepare investment memos for the CFO by the end of your internship. As required, you may assist team members in negotiating or restructuring hotel leases with landlords, supporting in a variety of real estate transactions such as valuation of joint venture interests, acquisitions /dispositions, renegotiation of joint venture interests, asset work-outs and asset level debt restructurings.

Desired Qualifications:

The desired candidate will possess an analytical background with coursework in finance, economics, or related fields. He/she should have an interest in the lodging and/or real estate sector. Proficiency in excel spreadsheets is required.
