About This Job

Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club on beautiful Cape Cod is seeking candidates for the position of Director of Revenue Management.

The Director of Revenue Management is responsible for maximizing total sales and yield penetration; thorough and proper management of inventories and event minimums through analytical and technical knowledge of Property Management System, Sales and Catering Management System and Revenue Management System; developing and recommending sales strategies, room mix, catering contribution, and pricing. Other responsibilities include:

  • Managing the Property Management System, Sales Management System, Revenue Management System, daily operations, forecasting support and reporting; establishing transient room rate restrictions and length of stay minimums; setting group ceilings and target rates; analyzing catering and banquet requirement minimums and space release policies. The primary purpose of this position is to monitor group and transient business thresholds within a five-year forecast to ensure measurable improvements for demand availability.
  • Participates daily in Business Reviews calls reviewing Group Daily Transaction, Booking Review, Lost Business, and Booking Status reports. Address concerns and action plans with Resort Manager, Director of Sales and General Manager to analyze future and past group to maximize revenue opportunities
  • Coordinates and implements updates for MAR rates and Transient Protected thresholds in Delphi for the 1- to 3-year window
  • Ensures that all room's statistics reports, Report of Operations and any other related reports are accurate and consistent.
  • Attends property Staff meetings and other property specific meetings as requested by the General Manager.
  • Provides training to hotel team members on revenue management procedures and principles, as needed
  • Oversees the reservations’ team to include daily management of the Reservations Manager, identifying and hiring reservation agents, handling guest complaints, etc. Trains the Reservations team and implements programs that conform with FORBES 4-Star reservations standards
  • Ensures budgetary constraints are adhered to regarding expenses and labor within the Reservations Department.
  • Leads weekly revenue management meeting with General Manager, Director of Sales, Resort Manager, Marketing team and Director of Rooms
  • Coordinates with the marketing team on the creation of special packages for transient guests. Oversees the development and loading of these packages through the Resort’s PMS and CRS.
  • Manages inventory, rates and length of stay patterns and on all established third-party websites including but not limited to Expedia, Booking.com, etc. Manage the use of flash sale and opaque third-party sites including but not limited to Groupon, Hotel Tonight, Hotwire, etc.
  • Daily utilization of EZ RMS and practical knowledge to deliver forecasts that are within accuracy of 3% +/-
  • Updates rates in the Resort’s PMS system Resort Suite, Channel Manager, CRS and Revenue Management System.
  • Participates in the writing of the annual business plan and day by day budget for transient, group, catering revenues
  • Submits daily, weekly and monthly reports in a timely manner as required by ownership, Resort Manager and General Manager
  • Creates all excel documents to include day by day budget, day by day forecast, rate calendar, daily reports, monthly reports, Budget reports, pace reports, etc.

    SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:
    In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by management based upon the requirements of the company.
  • Instructs training classes, analyzes and reviews current and proposed methods, consult with and make recommendations to the management staff for improvement.
  • Answers telephone inquiries.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager & Resort Manager
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Ocean Edge from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
  • Participates on the Executive Committee and assists with any requests of General Manager and Resort Manager
