Natural History Abounds the Amelia Island Plantation Resort
Once a jewel in the crown of King Edward II, only an island worthy of his daughter Princess Amelia would bear her name. Known as the “Isle of Eight Flags,” Amelia Island is the only territory in the United States ruled by eight sovereignties. Once a haven for pirates, rumrunners, nobles and confederates, the picturesque Fernandina Beach is now one of the most productive shrimping and fishing centers in the South.
The unrivaled beauty of the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort is a direct result of efforts to preserve the natural treasures of the island. Recognizing the importance of the environment, master developers set the standard for building a resort “In Harmony with Nature”. From its conception in 1971, Charles Fraser and Ian McHarg set upon a mission to find the optimum balance between the luxury of a Florida beach vacation and the existing environment.
The result was a master plan to protect tidal marshes, conserve oceanfront dunes, grassland and savannahs. Each building, courtyard terrace and boardwalk was carefully placed with the environmental impact in mind, ensuring the lasting beauty of this magnificent setting.

Falcon's Nest

Our spa is pleased to offer a relaxation area and garden, perfect before and after your treatments. Enjoy our vast array of herbal teas and organic citrus water, then relax and revive with our men's and women's spa treatments, including couple massages, facials, steam showers, signature Natural Ion Treatments and Plantation Blossom Rituals. Our full-service salon offers haircuts, hairstyling, make-up application, bridal party appointments, manicures, pedicures, and child and teen services. Yoga classes are available through our spa, hosted in the “spa tree house”.
The Spa & Salon Retail Boutique allows you to continue your spa and salon regimen at home. All products are available in our retail boutique, as well as jewelry and gifts. Preparing for Your Spa Experience
To best begin your experience, allow yourself time to check in, receive your locker and prepare for your visit. Please arrive at least 20 minutes prior to your appointment for body services. For your good health, we ask that you drink plenty of water two hours before and after treatments. Our spa coordinators can recommend a combination of services that complement each other to achieve your desired outcome.
We do request that you disclose to the therapists any medical condition and/or prescription medication that you are taking. Please inform the spa coordinator at time of booking if you are pregnant. Our therapists are trained on specific massage techniques for pregnancy. However, no massage or reflexology will be offered during the first trimester of pregnancy.

The Amelia Island Plantation tennis program has been recognized as one of the finest resort tennis programs in the world, offering tournaments and facilities that cater to all ages, every level of play and groups of all sizes.
With 23 Har-Tru® fast-dry clay courts shaded beneath majestic Live Oaks in a beautiful Florida tennis setting, guests and professionals alike may enjoy play by day and by night with three courts available for night play. Since 1974, the legends of tennis that have played at Amelia Island Plantation include Andre Agassi, Martina Navratilova, Chris Evert, Martina Hingis, Maria Sharapova and the Williams sisters.
To enable our guests to learn like professionals, our teaching pros provide excellent individual tennis and group instruction. They utilize ball machines that provide shots from topspin lobs to zingers down the center line. Whether a beginning tennis player or a lifelong competitor, the Amelia Island Plantation will provide great tennis and great tennis instruction.

Amelia Links, designed by Pete Dye and Bobby Weed, is a 36-hole configuration that includes two signature courses, Oak Marsh and Ocean Links. The natural beauty of tidal marshes, intercoastal waters, the Atlantic Ocean, and mature live oak trees that surround these courses provide stunning and breathtaking views that simultaneously amaze and challenge the novice and professional alike. Having our golf courses be Audobon International Certified Sanctuaries not only preserves the natural heritage of the game, but also the wildlife that thrives there.
Our members course, Long Point, is a Tom Fazio creation with an 18-hole layout designed distinctly among primal marshlands and the towering sand dunes of the Atlantic. Resort guests may reserve tee times for this course one day in advance, based upon availability.
Amelia Links and Long Point golf pro shops each offer private instruction, equipment rentals, customized gifts and an extensive collection of golf accessories and sports wear.

Unique Florida Meetings with Resort Surroundings
The Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort features more than 49,000 square feet of versatile function space in our onsite Conference Center to accommodate meetings, banquets, conferences, weddings, and theme parties of up to 1,000 guests. Our unparalleled service and state-of-the-art communication equipment ensures the success of your meeting.
Expanding our space. Anticipating your needs.
In spring 2013, the resort will open 20,000 square feet of additional meeting space. This grand expansion will feature a new 16,500 square-foot ballroom, additional pre-function space, as well as a new event lawn that will allow organizers to take advantage of Amelia Island’s beautiful outdoor scenery and weather. In order to better serve and accommodate our guests and conference attendees, a parking structure will be built creating 350 supplementary spaces, offering more ease of self-parking, as well as 70 more valet spots.
The conference center will continue to provide advanced communications and computer technology, and a loading dock for ease of set-up. This expansion project will give the Omni Amelia Island Plantation nearly 70,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, the most on the island.
