Exciting Opportunity, as our company is immediately searching for an experienced General Manager for our Hilton Garden Inn located in Norwalk, CT. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader who will possess great attention to quality, detail and an undeniable focus on cultivating and delivering an exceptional and unique guest experience.

Job overview

The General Manager will build a team and inspire a culture dedicated to exceeding guest expectations. This candidate must be able to define opportunities in the market to maximize revenue, possess a thorough understanding of all areas of the operation and have the ability to deliver strategic direction that unites and orchestrates the different departments to ensure effective and efficient operation of the hotel. This position will require a high level of involvement within the community, understanding the importance of interdependence of interests among customer, employee, community and ownership.

Top candidates will possess a deep understanding of how the day-to-day operation translates to the financial performance of the hotel. Strong proficiency in driving revenues, sales and marketing, food and beverage, budgeting, forecasting, and the review of profit and loss statements are required.

Strong candidates with at least 3 years of experience as a General Manager of Hilton Garden Inn is required.

Requirements

  • Ability to lead Executive Committee and set key departmental objectives.
  • Ability to develop and achieve Annual Operating budget, monthly forecasts and provide P&L statement critique.
  • Strong leadership, management and performance evaluation skills.
  • Ability to develop Sales and Marketing plan and monitor implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of Sales and Revenue Management functions.
  • Ability to establish strong relations with the Marriott/Hilton brand.
  • Ability to successfully establish and monitor property Preventive Maintenance program.
  • Ability to plan financial strategies, delegate responsibilities and direct others at various professional levels, identify and solve problems, prioritize and coordinate multiple projects at one time, evaluate and resolve complex situations, lead the staff of the hotel utilizing a management style of a participative team approach
Must have advanced knowledge in the following areas:
  • food and beverage operation, catering
  • hotel maintenance and repair
  • hotel housekeeping and general cleaning
  • personnel management
  • sales and marketing for rooms, food and beverage
  • front office procedures
  • yield management
  • hotel safety and security
  • cost containment
  • public relations and social media
Must have the following abilities:
  • Good understanding of revenue generation and yield management
  • meet and greet guests and employees
  • inspect rooms, all public areas and exterior of facility
  • solicit potential business
  • use general office equipment, including computers
  • utilize general office procedures
Education/Formal Training:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, post high-school coursework in hotel administration/hospitality industry acquired through accredited college or business school, seminar and workshop attendance.
