Overview: Night Manager provides support, guidance and leadership to the overnight team while providing a warm and gracious experience for our guests.  


  • Communicates effectively and genuinely with guests, team members and other departments.
  • Maintains attentive, friendly courteous and efficient hospitality at the front desk.
  • Responds to all guest requests in an attentive, efficient, and courteous manner.
  • Manages and supervises the functional areas of guest registration, bell and door services, Telephones and Night Audit
  • Directly oversees the night audit team supervises all overnight hotel staff
  • Responsible for hiring, training and development, performance evaluations and counseling of all Night Audit staff.
  • Responsible for scheduling team members according to hotel needs and forecasted occupancy
  • Assists in the preparation of all reports relevant to daily revenues;
  • Balances and audits for accuracy all room and tax charges, cashier reports, credit card reports and house accounts;
  • Completes and transmits daily management and accounting reports and supporting documents; prepares various customer tracking reports necessary to ensure the accurate accounting of hotel revenues and expenses.
  • Responsible for resetting systems and involving technical support of necessary.
  • Maximizes hotel occupancy and revenue by managing and taking walk-in and last minute reservations, distressed passengers or overflow from other hotels.
  • Negotiates nightly rates and overbooking levels.
  • Communicates with other hotel departments as necessary to resolve accounting discrepancies and to request or provide information;
  • Ability to perform all jobs when needed within the Front Desk area
  • Professionally deal with difficult situations/people, conflict solution skills, dealing with varied individuals of different educational levels.
  • Frequent inspections of the hotel meeting space, guestrooms and public space. 
  • Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly but professional manner.  Consistently follows up to ensure guest satisfaction that meet and exceed our service standards.
  • Works closely with Security. Responds to emergency calls, assists security and calls Police if necessary. Responsible for the safety and security of hotel guests and team members during the night.
  • Responds to guest’s complaints, follows up on noise complaints and conducts in person wake up calls if necessary.
  • Trained and part of the hotel’s emergency response team.
  • Manages and records guest and team member incidents and accidents.
  • Fulfills Manager on Duty responsibilities during the night shift


  • Hospitality Degree/Certification preferred
  • Previous experience as a Night Audit/Front Office Supervisor/Management required
  • Must have a well-rounded understanding of all aspects of hotel operations
  • Highly organized, career and result oriented with the ability to be flexible with hours, days off, assignments and additional duties
  • Must work well under pressure in a fast paced environment and handle conflicting priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong computer skills, especially knowledge of Opera Property Management System, Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must be a strong team player with proven leadership, development and delegating skills
  • Strong Financial and Math Skills 
  • Previous accounting experience an asset
