We're searching for a charismatic and hands-on General Manager to lead one of Virginia's most exciting hospitality projects. A transformed, iconic bank building soon to be 27-room upscale boutique hotel located in Roanoke’s Central Business District the First National Exchange Bank will be converted into a destination boutique hotel with a vibrant restaurant/bar and a live music hall.
Responsibilities:
- Pre-opening hotel expertise; in coordination with Retro Hospitality and ownership, oversee aspects of pre-opening hotel operations, including all hotel departments and third-party contractors, budgeting and pre-opening inventories
- Coordinate and communicate with the full-service restaurant and music venue partners to ensure smooth pre/post-opening operations.
- Implement all hotel platforms and back-office systems with vendors. Ensure integrations are set-up with F&B and music vendor partners.
- Recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and training of all hotel team members. Foster a positive, team-oriented environment focused on team member development and guest satisfaction.
- Create and implement operational Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the hotel and ensure consistency with brand standards. Post-opening, optimize those SOPs based on real-time feedback.
- Guide the sales strategies/plan, including the pre-sales process and community relations. Assist with on-property site tours, outside sales calls, and build key account relationships, both locally and regionally.
- Coordinate with the marketing team on the implementation of the marketing, public relations, and media plans.
- Maximize hotel revenues and meet budget targets. Produce results based on short and long-term financial and operations plans that support company goals and objectives in revenue, market share performance, guest satisfaction, team member satisfaction, and net operating income.
- Monitor KPIs: ADR, RevPAR, occupancy, guest satisfaction, and team member turnover.
- Compliance with the financial reporting structure (daily/weekly reports) and share financial, operational, and guest satisfaction goals with clarity to Retro Hospitality and ownership.
- Conduct regular hotel staff meetings to ensure open communication. Participate in meetings with Retro Hospitality and ownership.
- Enjoy a flexible schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed and directed by Retro Hospitality.
