Job Title: Assistant Banquet Manager
Department: Banquets
Reports To: Banquet Manager
Summary
Hires, trains and directs the banquet staff in servicing all banquet activities to ensure a successful function and repeat business. Attend weekly meetings including pre-convention meetings, BEO meeting, Menu tasting and daily supervisor meetings. As a member of Talk Stick Resort, he/she will work closely with all clients to ensure that all details of their event run as smoothly as planned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly manages the Banquet Set-up Manager, Captains, and Beverage Supervisors who supervises team members in the Banquet Department of Talking Stick Resort. Assists the Manager in the direction, coordination, and evaluation of Banquet and Event Staff. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required. College degree in Hospitality Management preferred. 5 years supervisory/management experience in the Food & Beverage industry with at least 3 years as a banquet supervisory role in a banquet environment, preferably in a high-volume hotel or resort required; and/or an equivalent combination of education, experience or training

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have excellent PC skills and broad knowledge of current and standard software applications and hotel systems (InfoGenesis/Agilysys (POS), Microsoft Office, Delphi, Amadeus, Visual One, etc.).
Other Qualifications:
Language Skills
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Knowledge of multiple languages is a plus.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods of time; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 75 pounds. Ability to move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 200 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to secondary smoke. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Will be required to work outdoors in uncomfortable weather conditions.
