Director of Operations and Guest Experience

Makeready is a hospitality company that creates, manages and operates independent hotel, restaurant and retail brands. We are expanding our operations by establishing a new independent restaurant group with five new restaurants in the pipeline. As we continue to grow, we are searching for a Guest Experience Director who will play a pivotal role in the success of our new restaurant group by providing the overall strategy, driving performance, developing leaders, and living the mantra of every guest, every plate, every time. The position requires a visionary leader who can oversee all aspects of the business both imaginative and financial. This position is based in Columbus, Ohio.

Requested Tasks

• Director oversight for all food, beverage and service experiences
• Responsible for the integrity and pull-through of the brand story into all aspects of the business; aesthetics, vibe, uniforms, menus, offerings, and tone of service.
• Hold leaders accountable in facilitating the daily operation of the restaurant, bars and events. Be able to fulfill other tasks and projects found and assigned.
• Obsessive commitment to the details with ability to inspire others to follow
• Natural ability to work the dining room engaging with guests while editing service and providing direction in real time to ensure the guest experience
• Sharp attention to quality and deliciousness of all food and beverage offerings and menu adjustment performance
• Develop and collaborate with Brand Team to plan, market and execute both ongoing and annual programming initiatives
• Overseeing hiring and scheduling to ensure proper service, execution and cost criteria are delivered upon
• Oversee training is completed and to the standard outlined for both leaders and hourly Team Members

Requested Capabilities

• Mandatory previous experiencemanaging multiple restaurant concepts with leadership oversight of service, beverage, and culinary teams
• Experience directly working with and engaging in communication with management and ownership
• Proven track record in senior leadership role, preferably within the independent restaurant industry
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to teach the standard to direct reports in a consistent manner
• Ability to take the vision of a project and pull through operations to a daily executable standard
• Strong business acumen and understanding of restaurant and events operations including revenue, cost, and profitability and strategy
• Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including building of topline revenue through every guest, every plate, every time mentality
• Excellent leadership and mentoring abilities, with a focus on developing talent and fostering teamwork
• Strategic mindset with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and measurable results
