JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE 

The dishwasher is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of washable items (trays, bowls, plates, cups, glasses, silverware, etc.) and the dish room area to maintain the hotel's quality standards.

What you will be doing

Duties & Functions: 

• Wash dishes, glassware, and pots or pans using a dishwasher or by hand.
•  Organize and restock work areas for the next shift. 
•  Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas. 
• Handle all items carefully to prevent breakage and loss.
• Re-stock clean utensils and utility/service ware in the appropriate storage areas. 
• Clean station areas & mop the entire kitchen (or back of the housework/break area) as needed throughout and at the end of the shift.
• Remove all waste material, including cardboard, from the kitchen and back of the house/break areas and properly dispose of it in the appropriate receptacles.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of emergency and life safety procedures. 
• Must be ready to step in and support coworkers and team as needed to ensure efficient operation. 
• Perform duties, special assignments, and projects as requested by management.

Education & Experience: 

• A High School Diploma or equivalent experience is required.
• 1+ years of experience in a related position

Physical requirements: 

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, balance, reach, push, pull, lift, and perform repetitive motions that require manual dexterity during and throughout their shift.
• Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs.
• This position is primarily indoors and may subject the employee to high or cold temperatures from machinery and moderate noise levels.
