Scope of this Position

  • This position is an entry level Group Sales Manager primarily responsible for the Group Markets which include; new local accounts within 20 miles of Pacific Palms Resort, Southern California Edison Account, Religious Accounts, Northwestern States and  all other accounts as assigned within the sales department for Pacific Palms. This person will be expected to identify, meet with and solicit clients and accounts that utilize guest rooms with or without meetings
  • The successful person must be a high-energy result driven person with hotel experience. The successful person must be a self-starter and be able to utilize strong time management skills. This person must also be able to multi-task efficiently and effectively.
  • Requires a minimum of 1-2 year(s) of experience.
  • This position reports to: Director of Sales & Marketing


  • Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
  • Essential Functions
  • Must want to meet/exceed-established sales goals 
  • Maintain a complete and comprehensive understanding of prospecting
  • Maximize relationships with local clients to increase market share for the Corporate Preferred Market to establish Pacific Palms as the number one choice for the business traveler
  • Work closely with reservation/front office to maintain client satisfaction
  • Identification and cross-selling of meetings and the entire hotel
  • Daily activities include cold calls, telemarketing, site visits, outside calls, attendance at trade shows representing the property, networking and prospecting for client
  • Active participation in local chamber and rotary events, etc
  • Weekly participation in revenue meetings
  • Should have applicable hotel/conference/resort protocol and procedure knowledge.
  • Requires excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must possess the ability to professionally represent the property
  • Any and all reasonable requests of management
  • Excellent customer service practices
  • Adherence to departmental and property standards and procedures
  • Teamwork: Works efficiently and effectively as member of a team; communicates and cooperates with property staff
  • Working knowledge of Delphi and other hotel management programs a big plus.
