About This Job


The Lost & Found Attendant is responsible for ensuring all lost and found standard operating procedures are followed and maintained, ensuring lost items are returned to their owners in a timely manner and other items are disposed of according to department standards.


EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma required.

LICENSE/PERMITS REQUIRED: Must have valid driver's license for the applicable state.

REQUIRED SKILLS: Must be able to read, write and speak English.

KNOWLEDGE OF COMPUTER HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE: Ability to understand and effectively utilize MS Word, PMS and other housekeeping computer applications are helpful.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Experience with properties (Hotels and Resorts) in excess of 500 rooms and/or working in day-to-day housekeeping operations is helpful.


  • Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and /or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to stand during entire shift.

  • Make independent decisions while maintaining strong ethical standards consistent with company policy, rules and the ability to maintain confidential information.


1) Approach all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner.

2) Monitor all "Lost and Found" items and properly log, store and secure all lost and found items according to resort standards.

3) Maintain a professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication with managers, associates and other departments.

4) Use proper two-way radio etiquette when communicating with other associates.

5) Ensure all guest calls are completed within a timely manner and follow up to ensure satisfaction. .

6) Maintain an organized and comprehensive filing system with documentation of all lost and found items, reports and tracking logs.

7) Ensure the security and cleanliness of all lost and found store rooms.

8) Keep workspace clean and free from clutter.

9) Answer all housekeeping phones ensuring messages are directed to the proper person.

10) Perform Housekeeping Coordinator duties in the absence of the coordinator, or as deemed necessary by management.

11) Participate in Daily Promise meetings and trainings as required by management.

12) Perform other housekeeping duties as requested from management.

13) Comply at all times with Kalahari standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
