Cleveland Upscale Hotel is looking for a dynamic, experienced, and highly motivated Group Sales and Catering Manager to join our team. Our beautiful property boasts close to 16,000 sq. ft of flexible banquet and catering space. This manager must have Sales, Catering, and Business Transient Sales background in the hotel industry. The Sales and Catering Manager is responsible for overseeing various market segments and business transient opportunities. They must utilize a “hands­-on" approach to be actively involved on a daily basis in securing, qualifying and following up on leads to book clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to the rules, regulations, policies, procedures and the pricing & marketing philosophy, as set forth by the hotel brand in an effort to maintain maximum occupancy, revenue, efficiency, accuracy, and most importantly, superior guest service.
  • Personally demonstrate a commitment to guest service by responding to guests’ needs.
  • Assist with developing marketing and sales plans that maximize room revenue during forecasted low occupancy periods.
  • Know the principal competition for each market segment.
  • Effectively analyze the success of our competitors in each market segment and develop marketing strategies to counteract their success by maximizing the hotel’s relative strengths.
  • Identify and maintain constant communications with the hotel’s top accounts.
  • Establish lists of top accounts and top target accounts and maintain communications with these accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Actively sell room nights through direct sales (sales calls, cold calls), public relations, advertising, blitzes, and other promotional programs.
  • Be familiar with all “business" in the market, where that “business" stays and why.

Job Requirements

  • Excellent communication & organizational skills, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to guest service.
  • Ability to analyze market segment & conditions and develop marketing strategies.
  • Detail oriented self-starter.
  • Master networking skills.
  • Minimum 3 years hotel sales experience.
  • Professional image and outgoing personality.
  • Great attitude, work ethic and spirit of performance.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Documented sales success required.
  • Sales/Marketing Degree (preferred, but not required).

Required experience:

  • Hotel Sales Experience: 3 years

Compensation: Highly Competative Pay + Commission + Health Benefit
