Job Title: Financial Applications Analyst

Department: Finance & Accounting

Location: San Francisco – Home Office

The Financial Applications Analyst position is a new position created to support our growing company. This position reports to the Sr Director of Finance & Accounting and will be responsible for assisting with the implementation of new financial systems for the company and a sister company Chartres Lodging Group along with providing operational analytical support for the senior management team. Kokua and Chartres are on track to implement APTech’s budgeting/forecasting system, business intelligence and general ledger systems over the next 24 months. The ideal candidate will be looking to join a fun growing company and be part of the team to shape the future for Finance and Accounting.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Will work hand in hand with the project manager and operations team to design and implement a new budgeting/forecasting tool for use by Kokua hotel portfolio
  • Become a super user for the company on the budgeting/forecasting tool including administration and report writing
  • Will play a key role on the implementation team for the rollout of the business intelligence system, including determining timing and scoping for different phases of the project. The business intelligence tool will support both Kokua and Chartres’ real estate portfolio
  • Be a super user on the business intelligence platform helping to troubleshoot challenges and to reinforce training
  • Act as one of the primary liaison with the software company to communicate and ultimately resolve any system challenges
  • Perform custom report writing as required in the systems to support the operational or senior management team
  • Provide operational rollup reporting for our portfolio of hotels, including the creation of dashboards and executive level summaries
  • Responsible for the training of new employees on systems and provide support to existing users including the development of FAQs
  • The opportunity to assist with special assignments as needed for the hotels, Kokua or Chartres

Knowledge, Education, Skills and Abilities:

  • Previous experience in hotel finance operations roll and/or supporting financial systems
  • 2-year degree in Accounting, Finance, MIS or CIS
  • Previous APTech, IBM Cognos, or Prophix experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Excel is required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with creative mindset to enhance existing processes and reporting
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
  • Polished and professional with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a diverse environment with all levels in an organization
