About This Job

The Aloft and Element hotels in Lexington are a 259-room, twin-hotel complex in a busy area of historic Lexington, MA and part of the Marriott brand. We are located a quick 20-minute drive from downtown Boston and are T-accessible: Bus # 76 stops in front of our property and travels directly to / from the Alewife T station (red line).

We are currently looking for the newest members of its all-star team! We want to create an environment in which our guests and associates can thrive and, as such, are looking for individuals who are:

  • Energetic, motivated, and can deliver exemplary customer service to each and every guest
  • Looking to gain experience in hospitality by working closely with management to properly care for the hotel, its guests, and its associates
  • U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Currently reside in the Boston / Cambridge / Lexington metro areas

The Job:

Working as a Front Desk / Guest Services Agent, you will be responsible for maintaining the front desk area. This includes, but is not limited to, customer service, checking in / out guests, responding to guest needs, coordinating with security, running business reports, restocking shelves / supplies, clerical duties, maintaining cleanliness, and more. Additionally, you may be tasked with special projects from time-to-time such as re-organizing the office or lobby, deep-cleaning office equipment, etc. Front Desk Agents are expected to stand for extended periods, walk up and down stairs as well as inside and outside the buildings, lift / push up to 50 lbs., and use chemicals such as cleaners and other potential irritants.


The successful candidate will:

  • Have customer service knowledge / experience (hotel experience preferred)
  • Possess a sincere desire to help people
  • Maintain a professional and well-groomed appearance
  • Be able to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Be able to work a variety of shifts including overnights, weekends, and holidays
  • Possess great communication skills and be a good listener in English (Spanish is a bonus)
  • Have the ability to respond quickly to changing needs of hotel guests and staff
  • Be able to use computer / office equipment, including (but not limited to) MS Office, copiers, fax, scanners, etc.
  • Preferably possess knowledge of property management systems such as Lightspeed, Galaxy, etc.



Example daily work consists of:

  • Checking guests in / out
  • Acting as telephone operator
  • Being the first point of contact for guests / customer service
  • Communicating with all departments
  • Cash accountability
  • Writing daily shift summary email
  • Restock food and beverage items and front desk / office supplies
  • Maintain cleanliness of food and beverage equipment and public areas
  • Responding to guest and staff calls
  • Completing special requests by guests or as assigned
  • Supporting other departments
  • Additional duties as needed
