The Ideal Candidate for this Position

The ideal candidate is an a hands on Leader with an established and consistent track record of high performance in RevPAR index, margin and guest satisfaction improvement. They will thrive in an environment of autonomy where they will run the hotel as if it is their own business.

What you will be doing

The Bench General Manager position is designed to support HVMG’s continued growth and gain exposure and experience in all functional leadership areas of the hotel. Responsibilities include but not limited to revenue generation, profitability, guest service, product quality, overall cleanliness, food and beverage, rooms and maintenance of hotel property. Goal of this position is to assume a regular GM role within HVMG in 6 to 12 months with the foundation of all Company policies and procedures. This position may be located at one or several hotels within the portfolio during the set time frame. Prior to assuming a full time regular General Manager role the Bench GM must successfully complete and independent task force hotel assignment.

  • Lead the effective management of the Rooms, Food & Beverage and Engineering functional areas to maximize financial performance while upholding quality standards and maximizing levels of guest satisfaction.
  • Direct the maximization of room revenue by anticipation of market shifts, development and monitoring of annual business and marketing plans, and participating in property sales and marketing efforts.
  • Measure the effectiveness of broad-based marketing plans and yield management efforts to maximize the number of market segments needed and to diversify the sources of revenues. Manage and monitor sales and marketing personnel activities.
  •  Ensure the development of a realistic and attainable business plan and budget that defines operational goals and profitability objectives.
  • Be available and visible to the guests.  Meet and greet guests at breakfasts, social hours, etc. as determined by the brand to build relationships and monitor guest satisfaction levels.
  • Coordinate capital improvement projects to maintain/upgrade quality standards and property image, and to protect assets from neglect, damage or deterioration.
  • Experience managing hotel Accounting & HR responsibilities.
  • Track record improving yield and building volume.
  • Track record driving and meeting GSS.
  • Consistently exceed revenue and guest expectations.

Requirements

  • Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
  • Requires a minimum of 2 plus years of leadership experience in a similar hotel environment.
  • Must have similar brand experience.
  • Must be able to lead Revenue and Sales disciplines.
  • Position will be required to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, and weekends.
Educational Requirements:
  • BA/BS 4-5 year degree or foreign equivalency.
