What you will be doing..

Working in partnership with the regional operations leadership and hotel teams, this role is responsible for bringing profitability, creativity, innovation, and operational excellence to HVMG’s food and beverage businesses, working in partnership with all brands where applicable. The successful candidate will have demonstrated success in high quality independent restaurants/bars and branded hotel food and beverage operations including large scale banquet and catering.

Essential Functions..

  • Visit properties to undertake operational and business reviews of the F&B operations. Work with general managers, property operations teams, and regional directors of operations to develop improvement plans to enhance the guest experience, improve service and product, drive revenue, and enhance profitability.
  • Define and develop HVMG’s core operating, service and procurement standards. Identify and share best practices to achieve consistent performance and execution in core F/B functions. 
  • Stay current on all brand F/B initiatives ensuring HVMG hotels are meeting all standards, the F/B programs are appropriately positioned, and we are participating in all relevant brand programs.
  • Professionally represent the Company at industry events, trade shows and meetings as needed/required.
  • Stay current on latest culinary & beverage trends, incorporating these into our outlets and catering operations as appropriate. 
  • Regularly engage hotel teams on menu development and pricing to ensure that our product offering stays relevant, creative, and profitable.
  • Lead F/B procurement initiatives to ensure purchasing power is leveraged across the portfolio.
  • Assist owners and properties with concept changes, providing input on renovation plans and capital improvements.
  • Develop and implement standards for internal and external marketing plans, ensuring they are deployed in all hotels as appropriate.
  • Develop and deploy training programs.
  • Review monthly financial results and make recommendations to GM’s and RVP’s on improving profitability.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.

  • Be a leader and role model to all associates and promote the HVMG Purpose and Vision by example.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Operational experience with major hotel brands; Marriott, Hilton and or Hyatt.
  • Independent restaurant/bar experience and experience developing new concepts.
  • Creative when it comes to both the product and the marketing/promotion of the product.
  • Strong MS Excel & Power Point proficiency. Strong MICROS skills
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills; able to quickly learn how to effectively communicate with senior hotel leadership, vendors and partners.
  • Comfortable interacting with and presenting to owners and senior management
  • Organized, with demonstrated ability to develop and manage multiple complex work-streams, including during periods of limited oversight
  • Ability to collect and analyze data.
  • The position will be based in Atlanta and will require extensive travel at times

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Education

Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Hotel/Restaurant or Business Administration, or equivalent education/experience required.

Experience

10 plus years of direct management experience (leading and managing teams) in hotel and independent restaurant environment.
