About This Job

What you will be doing

The Task Force Sales Specialist temporarily fills vacant Select Service Director of Sales and Sales Manager roles.  The ideal candidate thrives on quickly identifying each assignment’s needs and making an immediate impact through group bookings, BT sales and leadership within the assigned hotel.  Assignments will primarily focus on select service director of sales roles, but will also include full service sales manager, catering sales and event management openings.  The Task Force Sales opportunity is built for an experienced hotel sales manager or select service director of sales who enjoys travel and would like to gain experience with multiple brands, markets and hotel types.  Marriott Select Brand experience is a plus

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (include the following. Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Solicit new business opportunities within different market segments via telephone and outside sales appointments.
  • Correspond with potential customers providing any requested information concerning bids, proposals, confirmation of bookings, thank you letters, follow up letters, etc
  • Provide excellent customer care to existing accounts while effectively developing additional future business.
  • Participation in local networking events (some area and Brand travel required).
  • Regularly conduct property site tours and entertain qualified potential customers in accordance with the company and property policies.
  • Daily utilization and management of customer database.
  • Negotiate, contract, event detailing and post stay / event follow up with customers.
  • Assist the General Manager and/or Director of Sales and Marketing in the research and development of any annual business or marketing plans directly related to their market segments or territories.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Minimum of 2 years Hotel Sales experience. 
  • Select Service Director of Sales a plus.
  • Knowledge of Hotel Sales Pro & Delphi
  • Marriott Select Brand experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Office, Internet
  • Well organized and detail oriented
  • Entrepreneurial approach to sales while also being an excellent team member
  • Display initiative, perseverance, and analytical skills
  • Effective communicator
  • Professional and ethical
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Quick learner and hard worker
  • Available to meet guests which may include holidays and/or weekends
  • Travel 100%

 Education:

Bachelor's Degree from a four year college or university with a degree in Hotel Management, Business, marketing, or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
