Position Summary:

Maintains the laundry and appropriate facilities in a clean and orderly manner.

Essential Functions:

• Provide the highest quality of service to the guest at all times.
• Receive soiled linens by bag, cart or chute from the floors.  Sort articles by kind, color, and degree of soil.  Inspect all laundry and linens and record all damaged or stained items.
• Know how to operate the washers and dryers.
• Pre-spot linen and terry before re-washing.
• Load linen in washer as per loading instruction being careful not to overload.  Load linen in dryer.  Remove linen immediately to prevent wrinkles.  Fold linen according to proper standards.  Adhere to no iron laundry procedure.  Place folded linen on marked shelves and transport to floor linen rooms in a timely fashion. 
• Maintain a well organized, neat laundry room.
• Check washing machine drains to prevent clogging. 
• Complete maintenance form when needed.
• Damp mop laundry floor on a daily basis.
• Clean lint traps after every other load.
• Wipe down all machines daily and maintain all equipment per manufacturer’s specified procedures, e.g. remove lint from dryers as needed.
• Strip or pick up laundry from guest rooms when caught up.
• Alert maintenance of any issues that may arise.  
• Empty and turn off all machines at completion of shift.
• Wear proper uniform in accordance with the Standards of Appearance.
• Be able to lift and carry 40lbs.; push and pull 80lbs.
• Other duties as assigned, of which the employee is capable of performing.

Requirements:

• Ability to speak, read, write and understand the English language

• Basic reading, writing and math skills
• Must have basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products and operation of standard cleaning equipment
• Commitment to exceptional guest service
• Great positive attitude
