About This Job

To be a part of the efficient and economical operation of the housekeeping department in support of all other operating departments, supplying services as required to the entire operation, and maintaining cleanliness of the guestrooms to optimum condition.


Customer Service

  • To deliver Kokua Hospitality’s core values and provide exceptional guest service at all times
  • To provide excellent service to internal customers in other departments as appropriate
  • To handle all guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to make sure problems are resolved to satisfaction.
  • To help maintain the general cleanliness of the entire building (including restrooms, meeting spaces, Fitness Center, Mezzanine Level, F&B areas, employee only areas, and administrative offices).
  • To deliver Axiom standards to every guest.


Operational

  • To participate in a comprehensive deep cleaning/inspection program for all guestrooms and public spaces in the hotel.
  • To help maintain a well-organized housekeeping office, housekeeping closets, and lost and found area.
  • To follow procedures for reporting and handling lost and found items.
  • To understand your role in the Emergency Response Plan and know what to do in the event of an emergency; including how to direct guests.
  • To advise the Housekeeping Manager of potential improvements that could be made to the operation.
  • To adhere to all green initiatives including the proper disposal of biological and hazardous waste.  It is essential that the hotel recycle everything possible to embrace the Green Initiatives of our City, State and our guests.
  • To comply with all operational procedures, all the prevailing local and national codes, and to notify the Housekeeping Manager of areas of non-compliance, if any.
  • To work closely with the leadership of the hotel in a supportive and flexible manner, focusing on the overall success of the hotel and the satisfaction of hotel guests.
  • To work in a supportive and flexible manner with other departments, in the spirit of “Teamwork.”
  • To function keeping in mind “The Platinum Rule- providing the service that guests expect”, demonstrating Axiom’s Values and Kokua’s Culture.
  • To follow all hotel, company and local rules, policies and regulations relating to fire and hazard safety, and security.
  • To give feedback to the Housekeeping Manager to ensure appropriate ideas and concerns are communicated.


Other Duties

  • To attend and participate in ongoing training as assigned.
  • To help ensure waste is minimized, notifying the Housekeeping Manager of areas of opportunities.
  • To embrace the comprehensive safety initiatives and all hotel standards.
  • To comply with OSHA and ADA policies.
  • To follow all emergency procedures set by Axiom hotel and Kokua Hospitality.
  • To maintain a professional demeanor and appearance, representing Axiom Hotel and Kokua Hospitality in a professional way, especially to competitor hotels and other community organizations.
  • To respond to changes in the housekeeping function as dictated by the industry, company and hotel.
  • To understand the rules and code of conduct of Kokua Hospitality’s and its progressive discipline guidelines in order to maintain Axiom standards.
  • To read the hotel's associate handbook and have an understanding of and adhere to the hotel's rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to fire, hygiene, health and safety.
  • To attend training sessions and meetings as and when required.
  • To be punctual and neat in appearance.
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
