About This Job

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Food & Beverage Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for the successful promotion of the food and beverage outlets as outlined by the hotel’s marketing plan.   The position reports to the Food and Beverage department with daily oversight by the Director of Sales & Marketing to ensure that all promotions and projects are aligned with the overall marketing of the hotel. The Food & Beverage Marketing Coordinator will be fully responsible for planning, developing, evaluating and required training of team members to successfully execute all projects. Conducting related meetings and producing reports to evaluate the success of each project is required.  Engaging with hotel & outlet guests as well as outside sales are a key component to the success of this position. Position must manage all guest feedback from the food and beverage outlets and all social media such as Yelp, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.  

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

            ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

            Average Percent of Time

40%     *Ensure the effective and efficient execution of the Food and Beverage marketing plan towards attainment of the hotel’s goals and objectives. Effectively manage all projects by timely planning, communicating and training of the team members and active participation in all related hotel meetings to gain support from all for the success of each initiative.   Manage the marketing checkbook and make recommendations for the use of funds when needed.   Development of promotions, content and timely communication to the public via social media, press releases, newspaper advertising, monthly newsletter, working with media outlets, restaurant critics and food bloggers.      

20%     * Development of the F&B outlets database and promotion of outlets by engaging with guests at peak periods including weekends and holidays.   This will include developing surveys, conducting promotions, consistent messaging to gain loyalty for our outlets.  Outside sales calls with sales team to engage with local corporate clients and to the local community.

20%     * Support the Food Beverage Team in assisting with the supervision of the outlets a minimum of two days per week.

10%     * Managing all on-line guest feedback including Yelp, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram

10%     * Represent the hotel with active participation at all tradeshows, chamber events, community events, etc.  that will increase exposure for the outlets

OTHER:

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Hilton from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.  Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs for the hotel.

Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Hilton rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities.  Employees who violate Hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of the hotel and restaurant industry, current trends and economic factors.   Familiar with the comp set and local area.
  • Understands the hotel structure and how each department interacts.
  • Ability to act independently and accomplish goals on a timely basis
  • Possesses the necessary leadership qualities to motivate a team to support the goals
  • Must be creative and have the ability to develop content that is engaging for all written promotions and guest communication.
  • Must possess above average computer skills including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, Open Table and Micros.
  • Ability to deal with internal and external customers in a friendly and positive manner in addition to being able to effectively problem solve when necessary.
  • Must be organized and have the ability to manage several projects at the same time.

QUALIFICATIONS STANDARDS

Education:  Bachelor’s Degree or combination of experience and education   

Experience:  Minimum of 2 years hospitality, restaurant and/or customer service experience.   

Grooming: All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.  (Specific Standards are Available)

Other: Applicants with additional language skills preferred.

MACHINES/EQUIPMENT:   Computer and outside sales calls will require reliable transportation to meet appointment times.        

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Must be able to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time ranging of not less than 1 hour at a time and specifically required for this position to fulfill successfully the essential functions of the job.

VISUAL REQUIREMENTS: Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual function being those of near vision and depth perception

WORKING CONDITIONS:Most work tasks are performed indoors.  Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10°F) and kitchens (+110°F), possibly for one hour or more.  Extreme weather conditions apply to outdoor positions.
