The scope of this position

This position will be responsible for the daily management and oversight of our operations in Oakland, CA.  In addition, there is a second operation at the AC by Marriott in Downtown San Jose that would also fall under this position.  Qualified candidates will be required to have reliable transportation, be comfortable with traveling between locations as needed, and managing segregated teams in a cohesive manner.

What you will be doing

  • The Account Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all valet attendants and ramp captains during their particular shift succeed in providing exceptional guest services, and that policies and procedures are followed correctly.
  • The Account Manager should not only have an understanding of standard valet operations and protocol but should be able to earn the respect of the staff and be able to effective lead a team.
  • The Account Manager will also be responsible for the daily auditing, accounting, and management of self-parking revenues for the hotel, and ensure that the self-park operation and its associated equipment is operated properly.
  • The Account Manager will be the direct contact for hotel management, and will be expected to fully integrate themselves with the entire hotel management team and their operations.
  • Experience in a hospitality environment or in the parking industry is highly desired. Account Managers will report directly to the Director of Operations.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver's license and be competent in driving a manual transmission
  • Must be able to pass a background check and motor vehicle check
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in valet operations
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to provide legible communications.
  • 18 years of age or older

Essential Skills

  • A positive attitude, desire to put a full effort into your work at all times, and a genuine care for the well being of our guests
  • Understanding of required leadership traits and the ability to execute them
  • Ability to handle computer-related tasks, such as using payroll systems and completing reports.
  • Intermediate to Advanced skills with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to enhance the well being of each customer to ensure a positive memorable parking experience.
  • Ability to provide high levels of customer service
  • Ability to maintain high standard of cleanliness of work area, personal appearance, organization, etc.
