About This Job

Be part of the opening team for the newest hotel to hit Anchorage. We are looking for an outgoing Director of Sales to join our team. Prior hotel sales experience is required.Must have a vibrant and dynamic personality with A LOT of energy and a sincere passion for this position. The Director of Sales will assist the General Manager with all Sales and Marketing related items to successful open our Hyatt Place, Anchorage. After opening the Director of Sales will maintain and/or improve occupancy levels and revenue production of the hotel in accordance with sales business plan by managing the sales process and completing all duties pertaining to daily operation success. The DOS will work hand in hand to represent the Hyatt Brand, InGroup Hospitality, and community as a whole. This position will help increase awareness through participation in hotel hosted functions, as well as offsite events throughout the community.The Director of Sales will help support General Manager, and Assistant Manager to ensure guest loyalty is maintained by efficiently seeing to details of client events/groups.Strong communications skills, familiar with high quality guest service, ability to present themselves and product to prospective clients in a professional manner, and must be able to work in a high volume/time sensitive environment.

Responsibilities

The Director of Sales responsibilities include, but are not limited to…

  • Planning and implementing direct sales efforts independently and collaboratively with the team
  • Marketing and product development for the property through targeting new accounts/markets
  • Proactive sales a must! Ability to identify, sell, and close on extended stay business
  • Plan and execute effective Sales Blitz and/or Customer Events
  • Network and build strong relationships between community, chamber, and other key influences in the hospitality industry
  • Research and assist in property marketing and eCommerce
  • Manage all RFP’s for national and local accounts
  • Execute and support the operational aspects of business booked including proposals, contracts, rooming lists, and group blocks
  • Effectively resolves guest issues that arise as a result of the sales process.
  • Conduct regular rate codes audits and report back to Revenue Management
  • Absolute knowledge of hotels brand standard, rewards programs, price strategies, and position in the brand’s portfolio and market
  • Have a working knowledge and represent brand initiatives/culture

Compensation: 60,000
