Group Sales Coordinator

We are looking for a detail-oriented, multi-tasker that is dedicated to providing exceptional service to our clients of today and for the guests of the future.

Summary of Responsibilities: 

Reporting to the Director, Group Sales, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service  
  •  Ensure prompt and courteous service is extended to both internal and external clients
  • Maintain an orderly work environment
  • Have a complete understanding and knowledge of hotel’s services and facilities
  • Assist in qualifying leads, researching space, and entering bookings in Opera Sales and Catering and responding to client(s) either personally, or by directing to the appropriate salesperson(s)
  • Conduct client site inspections of the property
  • Maintain current sales and promotional literature
  • Coordinate with other departments within the hotel to ensure distribution of important information
  • Proficient in numbers and analysis with month end reports
  • Prepare and disseminate month-end reports
  • Attend all sales meetings
  • Obtain and record group histories
  • Provide administrative duties as required by Sales Managers and Director of Group Sales
  • Regular sales office reception coverage
  • Assist with preparation and follow-up of sales trips
  • Liaise with Global Sales Offices and Destination DC
  • Assist with duties of Sales Managers when they are absent from the office
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications: 

  • Previous experience is an asset  
  • Minimum High School Diploma, Business School and/or Hotel School Diploma preferred
  • High degree of Opera and Microsoft Office applications
  • Past sales experience (internal or external) an asset
  • Proven competency in the area of organization and communication skills
  • Minimal supervisory experience an asset
  • Pleasant out-going personality/good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent command of the English language
