Job Summary

EDUCATION:   High school diploma or equivalent is required.  Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend the English language at a level sufficient to communicate effectively with clients, members, guests and co-workers.

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:  Must have at least one year experience as a line cook in a high volume restaurant.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:  Must have basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and safety features, food rotation procedures, cooking, sanitation and be able to determine whether a prepared food item is acceptable for service.  Must be able to work all stations in the kitchen.

JOB SUMMARY:  Work with all kitchen personnel as a team to insure kitchen production is up or exceeds standards for quality and speed; maintain the level and quality of line product; to work within all sanitation standards.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:  Must be able to work on feet, moving about at a quick pace for long hours at a time; must be able to lift, carry and move up to 50 pounds; must be able to work in a hot environment.


  •  Must be able to work a flexible schedule, to include weekends, holidays and split shifts.
  • Arrive to work on time, consistently.
  • Upon entering the property, arrive in proper uniform, crisp, clean and in good repair.
  • Hair must be clean and cut in a becoming style; management has final approval.
  • Attend all required training, safety courses; attend office and departmental meetings.
  • Report any safety hazards, follow up that hazard has been corrected, and assist with providing a safe work environment. 
  • Use proper portion control techniques, therefore assisting in food cost containment.
  • Set up line according to prep list.
  • Rotate all food pertaining to line.
  • Notify Sous Chef or Executive Chef of any food spoilage.
  • Prepare orders as they are printed out as quickly as possible.
  • Insure every plate is presentable and garnished.
  • Assist other areas of the kitchen needing help, time and tickets permitting.
  • Maintain a clean line.
  • At end of shift, clean line, store food product remembering to label, date and rotate.
  • Perform daily and weekly kitchen cleaning as directed.
  • Check out with Sous Chef or Executive Chef.
  • Perform any other jobs that will assist in an efficient and top quality running kitchen as assigned by the Sous Chef or Executive Chef.


Varied days/times including weekends and holidays.

40 hours/week.
