Interstate Hotels & Resorts is currently seeking a well-qualified individual for the position of Senior Analyst, Labor Management/Finance.  The Senior Analyst, will act as an internal consultant to various departments.  The individual will perform labor analysis for all areas of the company, recommending best-way forward.  The individual will work extensively with third-part Labor Management System, ensuring that data is accurately maintained and that reporting is consistent with internal reporting. The individual will effectively manage complicated projects, collaborate with other departments and operate quickly and effectively.


The Labor Management/Finance Group of Interstate Hotels & Resorts is a newly established department.  The purpose of the department is to support the initiatives surrounding labor leadership within the organization.  The position must work well in a matrixed organization, as deliverables are to Operations, Finance and Labor Leadership.


  • Develop, produce and enhance labor reporting consistent with the needs of multiple levels within the organization.
  • Evaluate and report out on LMS success factors in a clear and cohesive manner.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for Interstate’s labor management system (LMS).
  • Create professional training materials to support rollout and enhancement initiatives associated with LMS.
  • Conduct both live and webinar format training and consultation for LMS to both one-on-one and large audiences.
  • Maintain LMS database on a regular basis.
  • Onboard new hotels by setting up property-level settings/configuration and communicate offboarding hotels to LMS provider.
  • Respond to trouble-ticketing system for user-initiated help-desk requests.
  • Create pro forma projections for new business opportunities.  This function requires a general understanding of hotel operating metrics (ADR, Occ and RevPAR) and a basic knowledge of the profit and loss statement (Revenues, Expenses, GOP, NOI).
  • Generate return analyses for potential investments (acquisitions, joint ventures, mezzanine loans, guarantees, key money, etcetera).  This function requires a basic understanding of financial principles (time value of money, risk adjusted discount rates) and a working knowledge of key metrics (IRR, NPV).
  • Conduct market research to support key assumptions.  This function requires the analysis of historical and competitive market data, the assessment of room supply and demand generators, and the consideration of comparable transactions in the marketplace.
  • Analyze performance of all major transactions and explain significant variances to underwriting.
  • Support due diligence process for all transactions (acquisitions and dispositions).
  • Complete special projects and ad hoc analyses for various departments.

Knowledge and Skills:


Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, finance, accounting or real estate required.


Three (3) plus years of experience in hospitality consulting, investment analysis, feasibility, valuation, development, asset management or similar function.

Hotel operational experience preferred, but not required.

Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of the lodging and/or real estate industries.

Solid proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point.Specifically, exceptional knowledge of financial modeling.

Advanced Excel skills must include advanced functions, formulas, pivot tables.

Proficient in VBA

Experience in TM1 and or SQL a plus

Strong analytical thought process.

Deductive reasoning skills.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Highly effective research skills.

Well-organized, self-starter.

Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task.

Respectful of deadlines.
