About This Job

The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for the daily accounting and bookkeeping operations of multiple corporate entities and reconciling monthly GRT and Lodger’s tax returns as well as the American Express statement.  Such responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assistance with preparation of monthly financial statements and periodic reports, hands-on participation in maintaining an adequate system of accounting records, management of accounts payable and other accounting-related duties for the Company.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Accurate Accounts Payable input reconciliation and processing;
  2. Accurate and timely calculation and input of rebilled costs from HH&R to properties;
  3. Accurate and timely calculation and payment of operating taxes and licensing fees as assigned;
  4. Along with other Corporate team members, reconcile bank statements as assigned and work closely with property accountants to properly account for cash transactions;
  5. Work with Corporate Treasury Manager to identify critical payment dates and select priority payments;
  6. Perform general account reconciliation duties as assigned;
  7. Provide protection of assets by monitoring procedures and internal controls;
  8. Assist as requested with month end process for all properties and operating entities;
  9. Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data; recommend improvements through operating cost analysis;
  10. As requested, collect data, create informational reports and analyze information;
  11. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing professional networks.
  12. Work closely with all members of the accounting team to produce accurate and timely financial and managerial reporting aimed at sustainable company-wide profit.


  • A minimum of a two-year degree from a U.S. accredited secondary educational organization with a major in Accounting/Business Administration;
  • A minimum of five years of accounting/bookkeeping experience in a professional office setting;
  • A minimum of three years of experience with MS Windows, MS Office and Windows-based accounting software;
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work independently;
  • Hotel accounting experience is preferred but not required.
