The primary function of the Area Group Sales Manager is to assist in the development and implementation of Sales and Marketing strategies, along with the selling of group rooms for the purpose of maximizing profits for both our hotels located in Queens; LaGuardia Plaza and Hampton Inn.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Must have a minimum of 3-5 years Group Sales experience, hotel setting strongly preferred. Strong proficiency in solicitation and prospecting. Thorough knowledge of service flow and capabilities in all revenue areas. The ideal candidate will demonstrate effective and professional written and verbal communications and have the ability to effectively network and market our properties. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook Power Point, and Opera. A minimum of two years’ experience in a group sales environment. Outstanding presentation, verbal and written communication skills. Be highly organized and able to execute all initiatives quickly and accurately with deadlines. A proven track record in developing long term business relationships.
High School Diploma
Minimum 2-5 years sales and catering, or 2 years in hotel Catering/Convention Services, Banquet, Hotel Sales; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses/Certifications Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to drive to appointments. Knowledge of STS, Delphi Catering booking sales tools or Opera preferred.
