About This Job

Summary/Objective:

Perform all essential functions of Class I Engineer plus special skills in a particular trade: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC in an efficient, safe, accident-free manner.

Reports To: Chief Engineer

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Perform maintenance and repairs in specialized areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC.

  • Perform all essential functions of Class III Engineer.

  • Clean and maintain all equipment and work areas.

  • Document all parts used and parts needed to be purchased.

  • Report any unsafe conditions to the Chief Engineer.


    Required Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED.

  • Two years or its equivalent in trade school or training in building maintenance/construction.

  • Must have required certifications.

  • Certified Pool Operator (CPR) a must.

  • Minimum four years experience in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry or building maintenance.

  • Have a EPA Universal Certificate (HVAC).

  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have good working knowledge of building mechanical systems and controls, energy management and building maintenance skills.

  • May require ability to drive pick-up truck and snow removal equipment.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must have command of the English language, written and verbal.
  • Must have basic mathematical skills for simple calculations.
  • Must be able to organize time effectively and work flexible and extended hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be proficient and experienced with current computer software programs and preferably hospitality software
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Good hearing and vision with or without corrective lenses.
  • Must be in good physical condition
  • Must be able to bend, stoop and squat.
  • Able to lift up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to reach high places and work safely on ladders and high lifts.
  • Must be able to work in varying environments, both indoors and outdoors.

The staff member is occasionally required to stand and walk. The staff member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. The specific vision abilities required are close vision.
