Brief Summary of Job: The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for increasing banquet revenue by soliciting new and upselling on booked midweek/weekend food and beverage, banquet and meeting room sales on behalf of the hotel.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to: 

Responsible for development/sale of the corporate meeting and (social events) by actively solicits new business and maintaining existing catering accounts. Oversee each event from the initial sale through the post event phase of the function by adhering to the following: 

Solicit new and existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals through telephone, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication. 

Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel including room rental, AV and other revenue generating opportunities. 

Provide overall direction and coordination for events to restaurant //banquet staff. 

Negotiate effectively to achieve maximum revenue while satisfying customer needs. 

Review and update banquet menus/packages /upgrades regularly to maxim revenue and ensure customer needs are met. 

Participate in industry and civic organizations representing opportunities for future public relations and new business. 

Proactively pursue and manage (assigned) catered events for the hotels. 

Create menu presentations to potential customers. 

Execute and support the operational aspects of booked business (general proposals, contracts, customer correspondence). 

Communicate all relevant information to the chef/banquet staff and other appropriate departments in a detailed manner. 

Complete quarterly sales objectives and ongoing action plan, as directed by the Director of Sales. 

Conduct hotel site inspection and customer presentations. 

Use negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts. 

Complete weekly and monthly sales reports. 

Respond promptly to all sales related inquires and correspondence from customers, prospects and lead referrals. 

Conduct weekly quota of proactive sales calls in the form of telephone calls, hotel site inspections, trade shows and networking functions/meetings. 

Promote all Company managed hotels when appropriate. 

Travel as necessary for sales calls and trade shows.

 Respond promptly to requests by the Operational Supervisor and Director of Sales for reports and other assignments. •

• Minimum of12qualified phone calls per week in the office, recorded on sales call

 • Minimum of10site inspections per 

BookingObjective: Specific goals to be established after 90 days. 

SupervisoryResponsibility:Overall responsibility for supervision of sales staff. 

Independent Judgment: Often within the guidelines established by management and to the extent of operating within Company policies and procedures. 

Working Conditions/Environment: Access to entire exterior and interior of property. Indoors, various offices. Outdoors, touring properties, walking to/from automobile. Driving on roads and highways. Carrying promotional materials including trade show booth.
