The Cook is responsible for assisting with the smooth and efficient operation of the Kitchen to the standard required by the Hotel.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Executive Chef, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Ensures that sufficient mise-en-place is prepared prior to service.
Ensures that all food items prepared adhere to the standards of the Hotel.
Reports any spoilage to the Chef de Partie and/or Executive Chef
Ensures that the preparation area is kept clean and tidy at all times.
Prepares orders for the Restaurant and Room Service as quickly as possible.
Reports any irregularities immediately to the Chef de Partie and/or Executive Chef.
Keeps all "left-overs" properly secured or use them according to the Executive Chef's specifications.
Checks the rotation of items for service.
Works closely with all food handlers.
Keeps all wastage to a minimum.
Reports shortage of china and food items immediately.
Ensures that all machines and knives are used in a safe and hygienic manner at all times.
Carries out any other duties as may be assigned. Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
