About This Job

The Food & Beverage Director is responsible for managing and operating all of the hotel’s food and beverage outlets, encompassing: the restaurant, the bar, banquets and events, and room service operations.  The F&B Director is also responsible for maintaining product and service quality levels while maximizing profits, forecasting and budgeting, and selecting, training, and developing employees. The F&B Director prepares the annual food and beverage budget and monthly forecasts for food and beverage needs and expenses, and performs human resource functions including scheduling, evaluating, and training staff. 


  • Exercise your experience and relationship building talents to manage all aspects of the day-to-day operations for the Restaurant, Room Service, Bar and Banquet outlets
  • Manage the budget and forecasting of all F&B outlets and effectively communicate sales strategy to management team and ownership
  • Develop sales and promotional activities for revenue maximization, optimized labor control and supply management
  • Establish targets, key initiatives, schedules, policies and procedures to realize business and financial goal achievement
  • Create and manage guest-enticing promotions and presentations, capturing maximum in-house guests and expanded local market share
  • Maintain proper inventory to ensure the restaurant can fulfill all of its orders
  • Ensure that operational standards are met with regards to sanitation codes and laws, food storage and loss prevention. Comply with all health and safety regulations
  • Manage all food and beverage operations within budgeted guidelines and to the highest standards
  • Preserve excellent levels of internal and external customer service
  • Design exceptional menus, purchase goods and continuously make necessary improvements
  • Identify customers’ needs and respond proactively to all of their concerns
  • Lead the food and beverage team by attracting, recruiting, training and appraising talented personnel and model the way by empowering and coaching throughout the employment life-cycle
  • Maintain a safe guest and work environment and protect the hotel asset


  • Proven food and beverage management experience
  • Ability to manage personnel and meet financial targets
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
  • Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
  • Mastery in delegating multiple tasks
  • Communication and leadership skills
  • Up to date on food and beverage trends and best practices
  • Guest-oriented and service-minded
  • Ability to multitask and think quickly when under pressure
  • Ability to represent the hotel to customers, whether dealing with an unhappy guest's complaint or "making the rounds" of the dining room
  • Ability to work long and perhaps erratic hours, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays

FundamentalsA four-year college degree or equivalent education or experience is required, with four years’ experience in a full-service Food & Beverage Director role. Advanced knowledge of food and beverage or hospitality industries is expected with applicable Food Safety certifications. To be successful in this position, attention to detail and excellent written and verbal English communications skills are essential. Knowledge of Mandarin is a plus. Regular use of computer, business equipment and software is expected. This position requires full mobility to lift, carry and move up to 30 pounds on a regular basis the ability to be on their feet for long periods of time.
