The full-time Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the hotel with regards to safety, mechanics, physical structure and general aesthetics of the building.

Install and replace fixtures or other key items to ensure the proper and efficient operation of the hotel and guest roomsAssist other departments in the application of the preventive maintenance programMaintain a cordial, professional, neat and organized appearance according to LHW and Hotel Granduca standardsPerform scheduled maintenance of the pool and other areas of the hotel and groundsInspect the grounds, remove debris, trash and perfom basic landscaping duties as requiredAssist Loss Prevention or other departments with operational and safety issues including Fire Safety/AlarmAssist with Lock Interrogation of guest room doors and repairing safes in guest roomsAdhere to OSHA regulations, applicable State and Federal laws and hotel policiesConduct daily inspection of interior and exterior of the building and report or repair in a timely mannerImmediately report or resolve mechanical, structural or safety issues in the hotelPerform scheduled inspection and replacement of filters Communicate with Houskeeping and Front Office to ensure guest rooms are in a safe and immaculate conditionAssist with the set up and operation of audio/video systemsPrepare and paint walls, furniture or specific areas throughout hotel to maintain aesthetics of the buildingInstall and repair covered wall and ceiling surfaces throughout the facilityHang vinyl, paper, fabric and foil wall coverings of various weightsMaintain and repair caulking, grouted and masonry surfaces throughout the facilityPrepare and maintain wood sufaces requiring staining, varnishing and lacqueringPerform basic plumbing, mechanical and carpentry functions as requiredAssist with cutting and re-programming keys for hotel and guest roomsMaintain a clean, tidy and safe environment and work areaPractice the Hotel Core Values and 3 Steps of ServicePerform other duties as assigned

High School Diploma or equivalent At least 2 years' experience in basic maintenance duties in a full service or hospitality environment Must demonstrate a courteous and professional demeanor towards internal and external guestsExperience with creating special paint finishes and methods of applicationAbility to color match paint and determine the proper treatment and finishExperience in painting, touch-ups and wall covering techniques for small and large areas Experience in use of different tools and equipment required to create the perfect finish according to hotel standardsExperience in use of paint rollers and brushes Ability to communicate effectively with internal, external guests and vendorsExcellent command and comprehension of English and ability to follow instructions Bilingual - English/Spanish preferredBasic computer and arithmetic skills Must be detail-oriented and possess a sense of pride and passion for jobAbility to multi-task effectively while focusing on providing the perfect guest experienceMust be available to work required shifts - AM, PM, holidays, weekends
