The Director of Catering Sales will interview, hire, train, recommend performance evaluations, resolve problems, provide open communication and recommend discipline and/or termination when appropriate. They will schedule and assign in detail, specific duties to all associates under supervision for the efficient operation of the Catering Department, coverage of functions in accordance with productivity standards.
The Director of Catering Sales will tour and inspect banquet and meeting space on a daily basis, reporting necessary repairs. They will develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients and solicit new accounts and review previous banquet files to generate business. They will continue the sales process by negotiating, preparing , writing contracts and entering information into the automated sales system.
Collaborating with other leaders within the hotel, the Director of Catering Sales will assist in writing banquet menus, memos, and sending out amenities for VIP Guests. They will review and revise Catering Department weekly events sheets and banquet event orders as well as formulate and make revisions to annual and monthly forecasts.
All leaders at the Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor at Camden Yards will perform any other job related duties as assigned to foster a team environment.
