Solicit all group segments looking for business as per need date calendars produced by account business to maximize room revenue to meet/exceed goals.
Become familiar with all meeting planners in the region that could have business for the account hotels.
Develop and continually enhance relationships with corporate, business, travel industry, community organizations, professional associations, media, etc…, current and potential clients to maintain and increase awareness of the hotel and our market share.
Entertain guests at all account hotels thereby producing a series of site visits with valuable clients to all account hotels for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as meetings to show off meeting space.
Survey, review and analyze competition, market trends, customer needs and comments in order to develop new plans and programs and determine the potency of current plans and programs.
Create a regional referral system that will maximize our strength as a multi-brand company and look for business outside of the region of responsibility and receive a "referral fee" should the business be booked and consumed.
Create and provide reports that will allow for an understanding of the success of this position and allow account hotels to understand the benefit of the position. A lead generation report will be filed bi-weekly with the RDOHS, as well as follow-up report.
Attend trade shows either alone, or with other area sales managers representing account hotels, as well as other IHC hotels. (5%Participate in trade shows and community and professional organizations to maintain high visibility and the achievement of sales and revenue goals.
Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned and participate in task forces and committees as requested.
Knowledge and Skills:
Education: A four year college degree or equivalent education/experience.
Experience: Two to three full years of full employment in a related position with this company or other organizations.
Skills and Abilities:
Must have efficient sales activities experience, advanced knowledge of hotel sales/ hospitality principles and practices. Ability to investigate and analyze current activities or information in the sales/marketing field and make logical conclusions and recommendations. Ability to make decisions based on established policies and procedures. Must possess highly developed communication skills to frequently negotiate, convince, sell and have an aggressive desire to close the deal and an indefatigable work ethic. Computer skills and proficiency in English are essential.
