About Higgins Hotel & Conference Center

Opening in October 2019, the National World War II Museum is currently completing the build out of a brand new 230 room hotel and conference center in the Arts & Warehouse District of New Orleans, adjacent to the most celebrated Museum currently located in the United States.

Prominently located on the Museum campus at the corner of Magazine Street and Andrew Higgins Drive, The Higgins Hotel & Conference Center will operate as part of the exclusive Curio Collection by Hilton, one of the Hilton’s 17 market-leading brands. Named after Higgins Industries boatbuilder Andrew Higgins, the Hotel will feature a striking 1940s theme designed by architects Nichols Brosch Wurst Wolfe & Associates.

The Higgins guest rooms combine modern and unexpected accommodations with era-inspired décor, plush bedding, luxury bathrooms and a full range of amenities, including in-room beverages and snacks. Our Conference Center facilities include over 18,000 sq. ft. of sophisticated meeting space with seamless abilities for communication and collaboration; featuring tailored service including food, beverage and audiovisual arrangements.

The Hotel’s dining facilities will be lavish entertainment locations for Hotel guests, Museum guests and community members. The spaces include Café Normandie, a full-service restaurant, including a private dining room. Guests and locals will also have the option to enjoy cocktails on the Hotel’s rooftop bar, Rosie’s on the Roof, which will celebrate the legacy of women in World War II; in addition, Kilroy’s Bar & Lounge and an extensive Provision’s Marketplace for grab & go options.

Engineer

We are looking for an Engineer with a passion for ensuring our guests are happy and our equipment is in working order.  If you join us you can successfully assist in launching this new upscale full-service property in New Orleans. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar role and has previous hotel engineering experience is preferred.  Demonstrated proficiency in maintenance and ability to provide exceptional and memorable guest experiences. 


Additional responsibilities include:

Performs general carpentry and repairs to furniture and structures such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows, and counters.

Performs general repair and maintenance using a variety of tools and materials; assists other employees in these areas.

Performs elementary painting decorating and finishing of furniture and structure including but not limited to plastering, refinishing, and stripping.

Checks and makes minor repairs on electrical systems such as refrigeration controls, television sets, and lighting systems.

Checks and makes minor repairs on general plumbing systems and fixtures, such as pipelines, toilets, and sinks. 

Performs preventative maintenance in regard to plumbing and electrical systems such as checking electrical outlets and pipe systems.

Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment.

Diagnosing Mechanical issues and correcting them.

Turns in a complete notification of all work finished daily.

Wears protective equipment such as eye and ear protection or respirators when required.
