SUMMARY

Plans and implements sales, marketing and product development programs, both short and long range, targeted toward existing and new markets by performing the following duties personally or through team members through strategic and effective leadership. The person in this role must be an effective communicator between team, colleagues, peers and brand. 

CORE FOCUS & ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualified candidates must be able to satisfactorily complete the following responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Develops and implements strategic marketing plans and sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services. 

  2. Develops and manages sales/marketing operating budgets, including monitoring employee expenditures.

  3. Prepares annual sales & marketing plan.  Collaborates with Director of F&B, CE and SMM on plan.

  4. Prepares sales managers sales goals. Continuously monitors and ensures team achieves meets or exceeds their goals

  5. Provides timely and appropriate corrective action should a sales manager fail to achieve at least 90% of their individual goals

  6. Holds a weekly GRC meeting with the Reservations Manager and Director of Revenue Management. 

  7. Holds weekly Events, GRC meeting with Events 

  8. Implements and adheres to Group Business Review Process

  9. Monitor Sales Managers’ productivity  and proactivity via weekly Delphi reports.

  10. Prepares a monthly production report from Opera or Cendyn to evaluate which companies and segments are producing at the hotel.

  11. Works closely with Director of Revenue, CE and Atelier Ace staff to create need date promotions well in advance of need date.

  12. Plans and oversees the advertising and promotion activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail for all outlets of asset. Communicates and collaborates with Atelier on advertising.

  13. Oversees and manages relationships with outside PR agencies with input from Atelier

  14. Manages and resolves operational challenges as encountered by the sales team to ensure that the team is spending less time servicing and more time selling.

  15. Provides the necessary support, direction and teaching to ensure that sales team is traveling and proactively selling and achieving their financial, prospecting and outside sales calls targets.

  16. Provides the necessary support, direction and teaching to Social Media Manager to increase followers, social media presence while maintaining brand integrity with support of Atelier.

  17. Coordinates and Guides CE’s with management and execution of barter agreements

  18. Collaborates with CE’s, SMM, Director of F&B on property specific marketing initiatives for the Asset

  19. Works with the Director of Revenue in developing and recommending product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share in all market segments but concentrating on Group, Consortia, FIT, and Corporate

  20. Works with Director of F&B in developing events menu pricing, F&B minimums.

  21. Prepares group and event forecast weekly.

  22. Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to preset standards and industry and economic trends.

  23. Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.

  24. Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events.

  25. Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.

  26. Manages incentive program for the sales managers quarterly, submits to GM and Controller in a timely manner.

  27. Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and marketing programs.

  28. Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.

  29. Submits consortia agreements annually.

  30. Responsible for the contracting and production of the Wholesale/FIT market if there is not a member of sales department dedicated to that market

  31. Implements timely corrective action as necessary

  32. Conducts regular sales and marketing meetings and one on one meetings with sales staff.

  33. Manages and directs staff including recruitment, selection, and development to achieve company goals and objectives.

  34. DOSM is a representative of Ace. In their role they are to maintain a positive representation of Ace to ownership and asset managers.

SUPPORTING FUNCTIONS

In addition to the core focus & responsibilities, the candidate is expected to complete the following duties:

  1. Attend hotel operational meetings.

  2. Attend industry events as needed to remain up-to-date on industry trends.

  3. Complete duties of Sales Managers & Events Managers in their absence.

  8. Technologically sound with Microsoft Office applications.

  9. Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.

REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, or Business. Minimum of five years related experience with progressive managerial responsibilities. Previous supervisory experience required.

LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICAL, and REASONING ABILITIES

Candidate must meet the following cognitive abilities:

  1. Ability to understand guests’ service needs & requests.

  2. Ability to acknowledge guests’ requests in a polite manner.

  3. Ability to clearly communicate in verbal and written English (additional foreign languages are encouraged and preferred).

  4. Ability to apply logical thinking and understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.

  5. Ability to address and solve problems involving guest and operational issues.

  6.  Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
