Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for using laundering machines to clean articles such as rags, towels, and bedding. Sorts, folds and stores clean articles.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Sorts all linen and separates and treats all stains.

• Loads articles into washer and adds specified amount of detergent, soap, or other cleaning agents.

• Lifts clean, wet articles from washer and places them into dryers for measured time cycles.

• Sorts dried articles according to type.

• Folds and places items in appropriate locations for storage.

• Handles contaminated articles per company, franchise, and OSHA standards.

• Maintains the inventory of cleaning supplies and linen; informs the General Manager of any inventory needs.

• Maintains all laundry equipment and informs appropriate personnel of maintenance needs.

• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE & CERTIFICATION

• Minimum of one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

• Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

• Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism; treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.

• Knowledge of, and ability to, appropriately interpret and follow policies and procedures.

• Knowledge of and ability to adhere to safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.

• Ability to meet the demands of the work schedule, to be at work and on time. May occasionally require the ability to work outside of regularly scheduled hours. Schedules may vary based on business need.

• Sacar la ropa de cama y toallas mojadas y limpias de la lavadora y colocarlas en las secadoras de acuerdo a los ciclos de tiempo para que sequen.

• Separar la ropa de cama y toallas secas de acuerdo al tipo.

• Doblar y colocar la ropa de cama y toallas en los lugares apropiados para guardarlas.

• Ocuparse de los artículos contaminados según los estándares de la compañía, franquicia y OSHA.

• Ocuparse del inventario de los artículos de limpieza, ropa de cama y toallas; informar al Gerente General de artículos faltantes.

• Ocuparse del equipo de la lavandería e informar al personal encargado cuando necesiten mantenimiento.

• Otras obligaciones que le san asignadas.

ESTUDIOS, EXPERIENCIA, LICENCIA Y CERTIFICACIÓN

• Mínimo de un mes de experiencia o capacitación relacionada al campo; o una combinación equivalente de capacitación y experiencia.

CONOCIMIENTO, DESTREZAS Y HABILIDADES

• Capacidad de identificar y resolver problemas oportunamente.

• Habilidad de poder manejar las situaciones difíciles y emocionales de los huéspedes, incluyendo la capacidad de responder rápidamente a las necesidades y solicitudes de servicio y ayuda del huésped.

• Capacidad de mantener un alto nivel de profesionalismo; tratar a otros con respeto y consideración sin importar su puesto o condición.

• Conocimiento y habilidad de interpretar apropiadamente y de seguir las políticas y procedimientos.
