Job Description


The Maintenance Personnel is responsible for building and grounds/parking lot maintenance as well as janitorial work in common areas of the hotel.


• Receives written work orders or verbal instructions from GM/AGM. May delegate items to Maintenance/Janitorial staff as available and deemed appropriate.

• Cleans internal areas of buildings, including sweeping and mopping.

• Maintains cleanliness of public areas, storage areas, and parking lot.

• Empties trash cans and consolidates trash for weekly pickup.

• Repairs parking lot and sidewalks with asphalt, cold patching materials, and concrete.

• Operates snow removal equipment to maintain parking lots and sidewalks.

• Maintains and repairs plumbing and electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective parts, switches and fuses.

• Maintains all fixtures and equipment according to preventative maintenance schedule, and records such maintenance in log book and The Staying on TOPS of your Maintenance Poster.

• Replaces worn or damaged parts such as hoses, wiring, and belts, in small machines as well as large equipment such as company vehicles, sweepers, and riding mowers.

• Assists other departments with moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies.

• Maintains and services pool and spa areas including testing and recording as stated by State and City regulations.

• Keeps accurate records of key controls.

• Other duties as assigned.


• One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


• Basic knowledge of, and experience with carpentry, plumbing, mechanical repair, painting and HVAC systems preferred.

• Ability to appropriately assign/delegate work and authority to others in the accomplishment of goals.

• Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, monitors own work to ensure quality and applies feedback to improve performance.

• Ability to show flexibility in response to change and adapt to and accommodate new methods and procedures.

• Knowledge of safety management principles; federal and state OSHA regulations.

• Ability to present and express ideas and information clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to audience, whether oral or written.

• Ability to develop and evaluate alternative courses of action; make decisions based on correct assumptions concerning resources and guidelines; define and implements solutions to problems; and recognize when no action is required.

• Ability to meet the demands of the work schedule, to be at work and on time. Will require the ability to work outside of regularly scheduled hours. Schedules may vary based on business need.



El Personal de Mantenimiento es responsable del mantenimiento del edificio, sus alrededores y el estacionamiento, así como también del trabajo de conserje (janitorial) en las áreas comunes del hotel.


• Recibir las ordenes de trabajo escritas y las instrucciones verbales del Gerente General o Asistente del Gerente General. Puede delegar asuntos al personal de Mantenimiento/Janitorial cuando estén disponibles y lo considere apropiado.

• Limpiar áreas interiores de los edificios, incluyendo barrer y trapear.

• Mantener la limpieza de las áreas públicas, las áreas de bodega y el estacionamiento.

• Reemplazar las piezas desgastadas y dañadas, tales como las mangueras, alambres y cintas en máquinas pequeñas, así como también en equipo de mayor tamaño, tal como vehículos de la empresa, barredoras y cortadoras de césped de montar.

• Ayudar a otros departamentos a mover los muebles y a descargar y guardar las provisiones.

• Dar mantenimiento y servicio a las áreas de la alberca/piscina y spa. Conducir las pruebas de agua de la alberca/piscina y spa y anotándolas de acuerdo a las regulaciones del Estado y de la Ciudad.

• Guardar registros exactos de los controles de llaves.

• Otras obligaciones que le sean asignadas.


• Certificado de curso de un año de college o escuela técnica; o tres a seis meses de experiencia o capacitación relacionada a la materia; o una combinación equivalente de estudios y experiencia.


• Preferentemente conocimiento básico y experiencia en carpintería, plomería, reparación mecánica, pintura y sistemas de aire acondicionado y calefacción (HVAC).

• Capacidad de apropiadamente asignar y delegar trabajo y autoridad a otros en el logro de los objetivos.

• Capacidad de demostrar exactitud y meticulosidad; Monitorea su propio trabajo para garantizar calidad y aplica los comentarios que recibe para mejorar su desempeño.

• Capacidad de demostrar flexibilidad en respuesta al cambio y adaptación a métodos y procedimientos nuevos.

• Conocimiento de los principios manejo de la seguridad; regulaciones federales y estatales de OSHA.

• Capacidad de presentar y expresar apropiadamente ideas e información a una audiencia, ya sea oral o escrita.

• Capacidad de desarrollar y evaluar métodos de acción alternos; tomar decisiones en base a suposiciones correctas en relación a recursos y directrices; definir e implementar soluciones a problemas, y reconocer cuando no hay necesidad de tomar acción.

• Capacidad de cumplir con las demandas del horario de trabajo, de presentarse y llegar a tiempo al trabajo. Requerirá la capacidad de trabajar fuera de las horas del horario regular. Los horarios pueden variar en base a la ocupación del negocio.
