About This Job

Scope and General Purpose:

To maintain and repair the hotel's building, grounds, equipment and mechanical/electrical systems

Responsible to: General Manager and Assistant General Manager

Physical Requirements: Lift up to 50 pounds, push and pull carts and equipment, stoop, bend and climb.

Main Duties:

  • Responsible for scheduling of maintenance staff within budget guidelines
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in mechanical/electrical systems and equipment throughout the hotel (e.g. HVAC, plumbing)
  • Perform and document guest room and public areas using the PM system set forth by the corporate engineering department
  • Provide quarterly preventative maintenance summary to General Manager
  • Maintain guest room and public area electronic lock system to include troubleshooting, programming locks, reading locks, replacing locks, and printing the lock reports
  • Maintain hotel and guest laundry equipment.
  • Assist with guest room mattress rotation quarterly
  • Service the hotel's pool and including adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters and all documentation required by company policy
  • Complete all maintenance logs
  • Maintain and oversee the building exterior (e.g. snow removal and general upkeep of the curb appeal)
  • Maintain parking lot, including picking up of trash and emptying trashcans
  • Solicit and evaluate bids from contractors
  • Monitor and inspect any work being done at the property by outside contractors (e.g. renovation projects or capital items being performed)
  • Follow the company policies pertaining to any outside contractors being called in. It must be approved by the General Manager first.
  • Coordinate with local health, safety, fire and building inspectors to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations
  • Conduct key audits and maintain accurate records of keys and who has them
  • Maintain purchase order system in reference to ordering supplies with management approval in advance of purchase
  • Comply with approved vendor list
  • Able to explain hotel policies and operating procedures to hotel guests
  • Provide information to guests about hotel services, facilities and local attractions
  • Listen for and respond immediately to guest needs and complaints
  • Know and be able to train and explain emergency evacuation procedures of the hotel
  • Train all relevant on the Fire Panel
  • Conduct/attend required hotel meetings (monthly fire drills and etc)
  • Keep up to date all Hilton required documentation in regard to QA requirements
  • Perform other job duties as assigned

Compensation: 35,000 - 40,000 per year
